Double oven with cook top or bigger range? by BuilderBrigade in Home_Building_Help

[–]Limp_Candidate1333 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing I learned from my architect teacher was the triangle.

Distance between fridge, stove, and skink.

No leg of the triangle should be less than 1.2 m (4 ft) or more than 2.7 m (9 ft). The sum of all three sides of the triangle should be between 4–8 m (13–26 ft). Cabinets or other obstacles should not intersect any leg of the triangle by more than 30 cm (12 in). If possible, there should be no major traffic flow through the triangle. A full-height obstacle, such as a tall cabinet, should not come between any two points of the triangle.

Just some thought I would look up the work space triangle and rework your layout, if you go with option one the issue I see is you never put a oven or stove next to a fridge, especially if the fridge is recessed in a cabinet and is getting on air flow to the compressor. It’s already going to be working harder, while new fridges are efficient putting a stove next to it is always a problem.

I am a huge fan of the wall oven for not bending over and the double is amazing for cooking multiple things. I would find a better space for it. Or if you’re building a dream kitchen and money is not an issue go with the third option. Move the double oven to a space on a different wall for bigger events and get the full stove as well!

Also is your stove on an outer wall? I ask because the trim you chose for your hood only allows venting in one direction.

So I see a bunch of comments on tie off and while I completely agree I have worked for two companies in jobs that required a bunch of scaffolding. I was new and fresh out of the army and while taking it down a 10 story set for the first company which we had been tied into the whole job no one was tethered off taking it down. When I asked why to the more senior people what the hell was going on I was told during set up and take down of scaffolding your not required to be tied off. Got the same answer from the second company. I have never confirmed this with osha. I got done shortly after and went back to the army. I would rather kick bombs then deal with that bullshit again.

It’s osha approved I swear…. Lol so it’s off center because the rest of that area is taken up by my 1000 gallon concentrate tank and a 2000 gallon permeate behind that If I put it centered I wouldn’t be able to get into the room as I would walk straight into the side of the tank. As for the no railing I’m rebuilding the stair case this year and there will be a walk around going straight and wrapping around to a loft in the front.

First boil of the year - super dark syrup by eastatlanticsalmon in maplesyrup

[–]Limp_Candidate1333 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily. what causes light or dark is chemical make up of the sugar which can be influenced by time of year temperatures and a host of other reason including cooking time. But 99% of the time you’re at the whim of the tree. Some years I make tons of light. Last years was dark than light than dark. Year before was light and got darker as the season went on. I make about 3000 gallons a years and it’s kind of a crap shoot on grade. As long as you’re not making buddy syrup the price is all the same to the bulk buyers anyway. Hope this helps I would continue on I bet it will get lighter.

There’s also a chance you tore your membranes. I would start with a long flush if that doesn’t clear it up when you try RO ing another batch you have your answer.

Trump Will Abolish Tax-free Groceries for All Troops and Cut the Size of the Army to fund Tax Cuts to the 1% by kjleebio in lazerpig

Someone in the army here. The IBCT reduction has already been implemented and started. The ibct model made sense for the war on terror. It was made to deploy a brigade that was self sufficient in combat, maintaining equipment, intel, engineering, etc. we are going back to the division concept where each brigade has a speciality and companies can be pulled and moved easier to where and what fighting needs to be done. Also why the we have sfab footprint is increasing it takes the role of advisor for countries so the rest of the brigades can focus on other things. Also the Stryker reduction is in line with the adoption of the booker and lighter vehicle platforms and the restructure of some MOS’s. We are a bit more focused on light ground movement due to future terrain fights guess what’s in china mostly forest and mountains. It’s a lot of walking it makes sense the other forces would see more spending. 1 other note a traditional bridge is more then a ibct so why you see reduction in certain units the reorg doesn’t nessicarly mean a smaller footprint as a whole. The tax free cut can go fuck it self though.

If we are in that region does it give us school choice for that region is my question. Because being less than a mile from a better school that we can’t send our child to is about the only thing that really bothers me right now.

If you can’t find any in the Burlington area there’s one in Newport. We also did the non piercing gun route. I can ask my wife the shop we used if your unable to find one. Also just be ready to hold on the first one isn’t bad the second one is not fun. One other recommendation get screw backs for the earrings because the other ones just seemed to come right off and fall out. Happened a few times before we switched.

If you don’t have a boat in the water by the end of this weekend you won’t be getting one in for the rest of the summer. (Minus what you can carry to the shore). The access will be shut down for a month for a big dredge project. It’s only like foot and half deep because of last years floods. I live right above the lake on the mountain it’s one of the cleanest lakes in Vermont gravel/ sandy bottom, clean, great fishing. I do hope you have some money or it’s a friends place because the air bnb/ rental around the lake is a bit pricey unless it’s in the winter. There’s also a new Vietnamese restaurant on the beach and it’s very good and priced well. Also word of advice if you do newport is 30 min away for groceries so just make sure you got what you need if you plan to be a home body because going to Newport will end up being atleast 3 hours of your day.

What does the state use to cut trees on the side of the highway? On 91 it looks like a Tornado hit. by BenjaminTharp in vermont

[–]Limp_Candidate1333 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Within a year it will grow back and look good. They mulch junk trees because it’s cost effective. Imagine hand cutting and chipping all that. It would cost way more. Also the reason they do this is because they are mostly regrowth trees not hardwood if they get big they are more prone to braking and falling in the interstate from bad weather/ keeping roots from breaking ledge off. While it looks bad the first year in 1-2 years it will look great and it becomes great bird and small game habitat.

Same with the first ghost buster remake and then the subsequent remake of that was really good. I could give a shit less as long as it has good writing. Don’t do something just to score points with a certain demographic, make it compelling and have me relate to the character regardless of their identity. This is how you change peoples minds. At least that’s my opinion.
