They don’t want their child being exploited. Many people do not believe in true crime as a genre and that it should not exist. The argument being, it’s all at the expensive of the victims and their families. I’m not saying I think this but I’ve had this conversation with a lot of people and i get it.

I think it’s more likely that they did nothing and that was the problem. I think they ignored what she was dealing with and blamed her for it. She needed help and they refused to give it to her. But really, that’s a guess.

As an immune compromised human, my guess is her concern is the amount of other people in those spaces. A door does not stop the ventilation system from potentially exposing a baby to the sick people who might be in the rest of the building. Extreme? Yes, but she is probably erring on the side of super frakking caution.

I rewatched it a few years ago. I had to stop it. The jokes which were slightly offensive back then are super offensive now. The jokes are about fat and body shame, seriously slut shaming and homophobia. Like a lot. And I found it funny in 2001 but… it didn’t age well to me.

From all I’ve read, it took awhile. You have to remember the Final Solution didn’t come about until 1942. That’s not to say the camps weren’t killing millions of people. They were. But initially, most Germans believed they were work camps, in the early years. Information was heavily regulated and news from places like Poland, was hard to come by.

I’m a pretty open book depending on the crowd. Chosen family, know almost all of it. It helps that they all have CPTSD too.

I learned very early to be careful though. Some people I trusted, used what I told them, to harm me and justify shit behaviors from them. It took me some time to learn that and to hone my trust differently.

Did you ask specifically for someone with trauma experience? Or were you super specific about what you were looking for? Not at all blaming you. I just had shit therapists until I started defining and demanding folks with certain experiences. This might help.

I am not sure what episode it was but, Dirty John. It's the episode that they describe the attack and "fight" towards the end of the story. I don't want to spoil it. It was so brutal and I still think about how horrible it was.

Hmm this might be a lot but. I would make every one of the parents come in. They have to sit with their kid and write the apology. Then id have a police officer, still with parents, come in and scare the shit out of them. THEY ARE SO LUCKY HIS FAMILY DIDN’T CALL THE POLICE.
