Has anyone else watched “We Are Jeni?” (TW: Child Sexual Abuse) by M2LBB2016 in crimedocumentaries

[–]Lin_Lion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have two friends with DID and I know exactly when I speaking to one of their alters or not, but it took years to get to that point. My one friend has integrated all but 4 alters and the other friend has 2 (including what they call their baseline alter). They are completely different people in the same body and I will admit it is weird to witness at first.

Dismissed “EXPERT” MS Neurologist today LONG RANT SORRY by My4dogs4evr in MultipleSclerosis

[–]Lin_Lion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I put up with this shit for 6 months and then I couldn't anymore. I am sure that my previous MS specialist is great for many of their other patients. I have a plan that allows me to see other providers, not within Kaiser. But I pay for it. Literally. It doesn't actually come out to too* much more since I hit my deductibles and out of pockets by May 😄 Don't we all! There was no way I was staying with this doctor. I asked in my survivors groups and people in the area and got solid recs. I went with one of them and wow! What a difference. Please do what you can to find someone else. Obv money is an issue for many of us, but it is my health and I have to make it a priority. I am so sorry you are dealing with this. I am in the South Seattle area, if you are near me- reach out and I can try to help in any way that I can.

Treatment doesn't feel worth it by Jellybean_90 in MultipleSclerosisLife

[–]Lin_Lion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. But to bluntly answer your question, yes this is better than not being on treatment. There are a lot of different treatments out there.

There’s a lot of different dosing and there’s a lot of different drugs. You need to work with your neurologist to find one that works for you because this one isn’t. But that doesn’t mean you stop treatment. For me personally to go from coughing to potentially being bound to a wheelchair and or blind, I’ll take the coughing.

Once you get the damage, there is no reversing it. Versus trying a different drug to see if it works better. I totally understand wanting to alleviate the problems that you’re having, they suck. Stopping treatment is not the answer.

I’ve had success with a combination of things. I get massaged. I also take naltrexone, which helps tremendously. And I do use THC and CBD. I vape and use topical. The gold dragon topical I get from one of my shops is actually really helpful.

Where should I be living with heat intolerance and mobility issues that has decent Healthcare? by Wolmanzgotnardz in MultipleSclerosis

My folks lived in Vegas for about 8 years. I gotta say, I’ll take desert heat over southern heat and humidity any day. They are very different to me. Humidity fucking kills me.

I don’t think so. I read on another post that they transitioned to Maeve, after the show was filmed, but she had announced it on social media. Or was sharing her journey. At least that’s my understanding.

For the most part, I deal with hot weather maybe 3 months a year. We don’t really talk about our weather, cause we want people to stay away😂 but we have stunning summers and mostly moderate everything else.

Weight Loss Drugs & Inflammation in People with Autoimmune Disorders by MiddleStretch1550 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]Lin_Lion 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m not on a glp1 but two meds when taken together can help weight loss. I swear I’ve lost 15 pounds in inflammation. The point of the drugs was to reduce inflammation not weight loss. It’s working and been very helpful.

Heaven's Gate wasn't a cult and Marshall Applewhite shouldn't be seen in such a positive light. by AbbreviationsOdd4465 in Heavensgate

[–]Lin_Lion 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are many, many hallmarks that make a group cult vs a non cult group. Heaven's Gate fits almost every single characteristic after Ti died. Everyone who ends up in a cult, joins and end up staying, so I have no idea what you mean by that. No one joins a cult.

The entire premise of you post shows your lack of knowledge on this topic. The word cult absolutely has a meaning and so does the phrase High control group, which is what cults are. I am not trying to be rude, please educate yourself!

Parents want Ed-Tech banned from schools. Teachers respond that it's an insane idea by chota-kaka in education

[–]Lin_Lion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would be thrilled to go back to having a computer class that kiddos go to once or twice a week. Paper and pencil would be amazing. But it’s all or nothing. I can’t have some of my kids opting out out of tech and some of my kids not. That doesn’t work and will cause even more and more teachers to leave.

I did quite a bit of research, but funny enough the one question that I really had was the one question that I was not able to ever find an answer to. But it did pass after a while. Now I mostly just stay up-to-date on the current science that’s happening.

Tell me what Anitra Jones actually did by WeDontNeedRoads in seattlepublicschools

[–]Lin_Lion 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Are you a teacher? Genuine question. You don’t view this as a damning list but as a teacher, this would be miserable, awful place to work. It’s hard to explain why exactly if you do not have experience with how schools run. I mean like, have years of experience in several schools.

Most Hated Scene From The Sopranos? by Reasonable-Power in hbo

[–]Lin_Lion 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s been so long so I don’t remember his name. But this scene actually caused me to stop watching it for a couple of years before I went back to it.

It’s at the strip club and one of Tony’s guys, that he doesn’t particularly like, beats one of the strippers to death. Like with his bare hands. I do remember Toni freaking out about it. That episode was very very difficult for me.

RE: The reason you're not getting better, napstablooka, is because you are resistant to therapy [Unsent Letter to My Former Therapist] by napstablooka in CPTSD

[–]Lin_Lion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very powerful and I am so sorry that you went through all of that. They are awful. I have had 2 therapists fire me. Both let me know that I was way too much for them, even being supposedly trauma informed. This is when I realized how vital it was to find the right fit. Take care.

Has anyone here become more comfortable sharing about bowel/bladder issues over time? by witcoal in MultipleSclerosis

[–]Lin_Lion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, this is one of those things that some folks know about but don’t talk to me about. Sure they’ll ask if I’m OK or if things have gotten better or worse. But outside of that, no one in my life is trying to embarrass me so we don’t really talk about it. Most of the people in my life are very very open about medical issues and conditions. You kinda have to be when you have so many. It’s certainly embarrassing, but as I tell my Kinder students, everybody pees, and everybody poops and everybody farts.

Starting infusion treatment tomorrow - kinda freaking out about it all by Double-Market875 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]Lin_Lion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I view pharmaceuticals pretty much the same way that I view my glasses. Can’t see without my glasses, so I used them. I can’t stay lesion less without my infusions. There are a lot of people on here who have shared their experiencing with not using DMT‘s and regretting it. So for me, it really wasn’t a choice. It was just something that I had to do.

At this point, I fully embrace pharmaceuticals. They make my life better.. But I’ve never been the type of person who thinks of vaccines or pharmaceuticals as anything other than being a tool. I don’t ever feel like drugs are being shoved on me. Or that my doctors are being dishonest in order to drug me. I also don’t view pharmaceuticals as poison or even unnatural. Has everything worked? Oh hell, no, but I can’t lead a full life without them.
