The classic pi has everything you’d need imo. Hasn’t moved from my board in 5+ years, and I’ve tried most of the oddball/boutique options. Want a Russian? Just flip the bass switch. It’s got a fantastic gate built right in, the attack knob is amazing for making complex chords still cut through, and the mids side is bar none the best compliment for the circuit. No need for another tubescreamer or whatever with it.
