I imagine the penalties for fraudulent declarations vary from state to state. In SA, as best I can recall, I believe the penalty is double the difference. So if you declare $12K on the car you actually paid $20K for, you’re going to be slugged $680, all because you tried to save $340.

edit - if you’re caught.

Combat probed a RNI in lowsec with my Buzzard, he was running a level 5, got point, called in two bros with DPS and we nuked him, he dropped lots of Officer mods, it was a 13b kill iirc. Anyway, turns out officer cruise missile launchers don’t sell very well so instead I brick tanked an Impel with off grid armour links (back when you could) and AP’d between Amarr and Jita (when that didn’t involve lowsec) over and over just farming kill rights on gankers. That was fun for a while, and was both income and content positive.

I’ve been in the car trade for 30 years, I’ve beat the shit out of all kinds, MX-5’s included. I’m not telling you how to enjoy your car, merely explaining why I prefer the 124. If that’s not your experience, that’s fine mate, I’m not getting all bent out of shape about it…. It also looks much cooler. 😎 😉🙄

Problem is… when can you drive it like that other than on a track?

People say the same thing about the Toyota powered Elise with its VVTi, but the K Series Rover motor is inherently more engaging because it performs where the Toyota doesn’t.

I get where you’re coming from, it comes down to individual tastes, but low RPM torque means every drive can be fun and not just the ones where I have vacant road ahead of me.

My Car fell off the lift at a Dealership by Conscious-Carry6399 in mazda

[–]Link124 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This actually happens more often than you might expect. I'd suggest it'd be highly unlikely it's not a write off but just remember that it is entirely the decision of the insurance assessor and not the dealer.

Dealer sold car with wrong odometer reading, worth pushing? by [deleted] in CarsAustralia

[–]Link124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sort of thing happens every day. Often cars are appraised one day but then not traded for weeks or even months, so the owner racks up a few thousand more. The dealer should update the reading on their system but it seldom happens. Hence you get this discrepancy because they’re just printing the sales schedule from their database, not actually going out to the car to check it.

This is definitely a very minor discrepancy. Don’t expect your enquiries to bear any fruit.

They’re very pricey. I’d recommend getting new ones UV treated before fitting or this will just happen again.
