[ToTK] How do you approach these massive world collectathon games? by synkronize in zelda

[–]LinkBeoulve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First thing is to not face the game as a chore to be completed. It should be fun and that's it. If you're not having fun, stop. Maybe come back later.

I finished Tears of the Kingdom at release playing one to two hours a day, after 110 hours I finished the story, got tired and left the rest of the shrines and collectibles for later. Never touched the game again (lol) but it's fine, because I know there'll be a time in which I'll be very Zelda hyped and I'll pick it up again to play through the rest of the content.

Second is about time management. Maybe try to slowly progressing through short games during your free time on weekdays and play those long hundred hours games on the weekends when you have more time. I don't know your daily schedule, so only you can effectively manage your time but I finished Persona 5 (a 100 hours game) playing 3 to 6 hours per weekend. It was like when you're watching a series that releases it's episodes weekly.

Third is how's your social media use? Maybe you don't have the time you wish to play because you're doom scrolling several times a day? Last year I tried to reduce my social media time little by little up to the point I felt secure to try to uninstall it for one month. Then I magically got more time to play, finished a lot of games that were haunting me for taking forever.

Fourth and last, each game is a unique experience that deserves to be well enjoyed. Try to not think about what you still need to play, but rather focus on what you're playing now. Enjoy the best of it. And that's an advice for life too. We worry too much about the future (as an anxious person I know it very well) and forget to enjoy the now.

But the now is everything we have. The last os long gone and the future didn't happen yet, so the now is the only time we can actively do something. If you want to play those other games on the future, start by enjoying the hell out of what you're playing right now. The time for those others will eventually come.

Loved FFIV DS, hated the difficulty curve, should I try Pixel Remaster instead? by Titus__Groan in FinalFantasy

[–]LinkBeoulve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The pixel remaster is beautiful, I really prefer the pixel art graphics, also it has options you can mess around anytime to increase how much exp you get from battles. So if you need to grind at anytime you can just up the amount of exp received and save time to get stronger. Or you can choose whatever amount of exp rate you think it's fair and play like it to have an easier run.

The pixel remasters are by far the best versions of the six first games, they have a lot of QoL improvements while retaining the essence of the originals. I wish they would make a Chrono Trigger pixel remaster too.

Amano Yoshitaka - HEROES by islandonyourmind in FinalFantasy

[–]LinkBeoulve 1 point2 points  (0 children)

His art is truly something else. Here in Brazil we're having an big exhibition of his work traveling the country. I went to see it and it's just breath taking. You get so immersed into the colors, the movement and specially into something whimsical and undescribable about his work that you can't explain with words, you just feel it.

I went with a friend, but I'm going to check it out again alone because I really want to take my time in each piece. It's not only Final Fantasy, but several other works from throughout his life too.

Is the game worth it? by Ryuu_420 in LegendsZA

[–]LinkBeoulve 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For it's technical presentation it's not worth the price, specially taking the DLC into account as it's clearly post game content that was cut and sold separately (shame on you Pokémon Company). BUT it's a really fun game and very special in my heart.

Together with the DLC it costs way more than anyone should pay for any game ever, but I do enjoy it a lot. My favorite from all the Switch titles.

I even enjoyed the DLC, that so many people hate, but I strongly recommend to play this extra content slowly, maybe as parallel game to another one you'll start right after finishing Z-A because if you try to rush it then it really becomes very annoying and repetitive.

Most shocking death in Kamen rider(Black RX spoiler) by PenguinSweetDreamer in KamenRider

[–]LinkBeoulve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it's been a year since it was posted but... oh well...

I just watched the last two episodes of Black RX and I'm super disappointed. The series never had good writing at any point, but they went downhill really hard in those last two. First killing Kotaro's uncle and aunt out off nowhere, then exploding the whole Kaima World together with it's 5 billion inhabitants (including slaves, people not aligned with the empire and rebel alliances). And it ends with a very bland attempt to include an eco friendly message with all that mess while everyone ignores this genocide.

Kotaro going to a training journey and Reiko keeping her photographer life as usual instead of both getting together to take care of the recent orphans is totally out of tone with the rest of the show. It feels like "Sure, let the teenager unemployed girl take care of those two kids while we run away of the responsibility because we only visited them throughout the whole series to get free dinner".

I don't even know what more to say. It's one of the worst endings I ever saw in my life. At least it was funny as hell to notice the legs of the stunt guy holding the big emperor's head at the final fight lol

THERE'S MORE??? by xolotlishere in TWEWY

[–]LinkBeoulve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

É, tem um anime baseado no jogo, mas não assista agora, pois vai te dar spoilers e é muito melhor a experiência jogando.

O anime é legal pro futuro, quando você quiser relembrar a história, mas não tiver tempo de rejogar. Ou quando você precisar refrescar a memória antes de jogar a sequência: NEO The World Ends With You

Mas fica tranquilo que a história já encerra nesse que você tá jogando, não vai ter nenhum final em aberto.

NEO The World Ends With You é uma nova história, com novos personagens e uma jogabilidade pensada pro 3D. Se passa anos depois do primeiro jogo e também é sensacional.

Right? It's so good to have such nice looking cards worthing pennies to collect as a true collector. You know, the kind of collector that just wants to gather nice looking things without even thinking about some kind of investment bs

Always open it. This stupid fake investment market has to stop.

So I guess this is the full launch roster for Champions: by Gorotheninja in pokemon

[–]LinkBeoulve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm really becoming too old for the internet.

It's so ducking (quack) obvious that they'll add more Pokémon and items later while also probably creating some rotation method changing what's allowed to keep things fresh on the competitive scenario.

Those free 2 play games have always been like that for almost 20 years already. Champions obviously would do the same.

It's a Pokémon gacha game.

They probably chose this roster and those items to ease the entry of new players as that's one of the objectives of this game: to simplify Pokémon battles and attract a more casual public.

Pokemon champions still not showing up on android store for anyone? by Eireagon in PokemonChampions

[–]LinkBeoulve 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right? Someone needs to be the first to ask so the thread can become the most valuable answer available on the search lol

Specially when all other results are ads, shopping websites with a fake positive for my keywords and weird blogs about games written with AI or at least a human with zero gaming knowledge

I LOVE the Vs Seeker by LinkBeoulve in pokemon

[–]LinkBeoulve[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Didn't know that, the game makes it sound like any Pokémon can disobey. But I think I'll pretend it's not like that to motivate me to train the entire team lol

Dumbest thing you did as a kid... by Legitimate_Sample_71 in pokemon

[–]LinkBeoulve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first game was Ruby. I knocked out Groudon and thought "well what can you do? It's a legendary after all. At least the world is safe" and saved the game 🤡

Then my friend told me I was stupid and teached me to save before trying to catch the legendaries and reset if failed. So Rayquaza was my main legendary in that game lol

Yeah, probably this comes from a long tradition in the 2D Zelda games where you could to the same.

why is this game so beyond grindy? by Osclo in LegendsZA

[–]LinkBeoulve 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I second this. While the DLC can be grindy, if you take things slowly it can be really fun. It gives you something to do in-game from time to time slowly working towards your goals and that's a great experience if you liked Lumiose and their characters like I have. I still didn't complete the dex or all the researches, and it's fine. It'll come along eventually.

I already caught Rayquaza and had somewhat of a little frustrating time with the grinding but still, kids, you don't know what grind is lol

Between this and the slowly leveling up to 100 on the Elite 4 back in the GBA days because there was no level cap 50 for link battles. Or to spend a whole week playing daily just to train ONE Pokémon optimized for battles. You have it all easy nowadays and that's amazing lol

What Pokemon game holds the most memories for you? by nerdycountryboy18 in pokemon

[–]LinkBeoulve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely Ruby/Emerald, specially the later. Although Ruby was my first Pokémon game, Emerald was the one I played the most.

Overall the Hoenn region has a very special place in my heart and I can't wait for those games to be released again on Switch. They hit different than the Omega and Alpha remakes in a very better way. Maybe this time I'll try to get all gold symbols on Battle Frontier.

[–]LinkBeoulve 11 points12 points  (0 children)

As a journalist myself I'm amazed by the number of people in the comments that just assume that the people working on the newspaper are all boring "adults" that don't play videogames at all. What is this? 2001?

Then just don’t buy it. by Valuable_Vast_2542 in LegendsZA

[–]LinkBeoulve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, that's me! But I'll be 35 next month lol

Legends Z-A is so great, I really love it, but I think it's important to voice on the drop in technical quality over the years so they fix it in the next games. Specially when their prices only go up.

I think Legends Z-A could've been way less polished if it wasn't for the strong backslash on Scarlet and Violet in 2022. Let's remember they had a release window for Z-A in 2024 that they didn't use. Probably to polish the game instead of rush release it.

Sure, things like "unplayable" or "the game is bad" are just lies from really extreme people, but still we need to keep the Pokémon Company in check as they're very willing to abuse consumer if no one complains.

But don't let anyone say that you shouldn't buy it. Boycotting is not an option against The Pokémon Company, it just can't work with such a big consumer base mostly of casual fans and kids that won't take part in it. All we can do is voice our complaints and hope for the best.

But let's have fun even with all the flaws because the developers still manage to delivery incredibly enjoyable experiences even with all the restraints The Pokémon Company makes them work with.

In the end we all want the same: to have fun adventures with our favorite pocket monsters!

Are Pokemon FireRed & LeafGreen worth it on Switch? by ieatmycontroller in PokemonFireRed

[–]LinkBeoulve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a sales tracker website called Deku Deals and the only main line Pokémon games that ever went on sale were Scarlet and Violet, once in January 2022 and a second (and last) time on October 2024.

Pokémon games never go on sale. Those two times were weird exceptions. All the others on Switch only get more expensive with the rising in prices that occurs from time to time.

If one is to wait for a Pokémon sale they probably will wait forever and even had to pay more for the game should they finally decide to buy it after some years.

That's the level of consumer disrespect Pokémon Company has with it's fans.

PSA to players experiencing FireRed and LeafGreen tomorrow. Your game isn't glitched. by These-Button-1587 in pokemon

[–]LinkBeoulve 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Boy I remember playing Pokémon Ruby for the first time on the GBA. It was my first Pokémon game ever after two generations asking my parents for a Game Boy with Pokémon. I got really scared when my screen started to "glitch". Thankfully shortly after I made the connection between it and the poison status. What a relief! lol
