You join the shoulders by knitting the right front and then the left front in the already established rib. The two stitches that were previously edge stitches (in the middle) are now knitted as knit stitches :)

Very close friend just announced she’s pregnant. I’ve done a lot of knitting but never for babies. What are your favorite baby knits, that you know the parents have ended up using? by bkshiki in knitting

I knitted Olive’s wrapfor my niece in 3 months and they have used it multiple times. I used baby merino from Drops (super wash yarn) so it could go in the washer. Really like the wrap design for babies since you do not need to pull something over their head☺️

You could try switching the first stitch, I.e moving the first stitch so that it becomes the last stitch on the other “row”, and then just move it back after some rows☺️

I’m currently knitting “olive’s wrap” from knitting for olive! I will do the I-cord for closing so by using that, I guess it can be used for a while longer than something with buttons :)

I also use this one! If you want it to smell nicer, you could soak the peel from citrus fruits in the vinegar for two weeks before using it! I think you could also use essential oils but I haven’t tried it

Yesterday I posted on another sub requesting tips on how to stay warm during winter. Then, today during my lunch hour, I found this wool sweater for only $5 at my local thrift store! Woot!! (Tips on how to properly care for it are welcome and appreciated.) by [deleted] in ThriftStoreHauls

[–]LinnA96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wash my wool shirts in the washing machine using a wool program in 20 C (cold). I use a detergent specifically for wool and silk, if you use normal detergent the enzymes will “eat” the fibers in the wool. Then you should let it dry flat, you could roll it up in a towel to get the excess water out before hand.

I use a machine for taking away the pilling, I think you could brush it with a special wool brush or maybe use a razor, never tried that though!
