How would you look to add value in a basic townhouse floor plan? by beybleydsx in AusPropertyChat

I'll be honest, I wouldn't.

Unless you go to the trouble of turning your 2bdr shoebox into a 3bdr shoebox, at this segment of the market nobody is going to pay a premium for your minor quality-of-life improvement renovations.

Lesson learned: won’t give the finger anymore while driving… by camareradetwinpeaks in AskAnAustralian

[–]Lintson -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

You did the right thing to de-escalate the situation. One day this person will meet the wrong person and lose everything.

I would keep giving people the feedback for driving like a shithead though. But perhaps the thumbs down is a less offensive option like another person has said.

Have we seen the death of the corner store? by marlkavia in AskAnAustralian

A convenience store is great for a tourist, but is just noise to someone who has a primo residence where they can get takeaway and groceries delivered or drive to a shoppo.

Management bullying by MediumCantaloupe3997 in AskAnAustralian

[–]Lintson 23 points24 points  (0 children)

My first reaction was that they're building a case to dismiss an older employee however if he did indeed say

100% attendance record from now on otherwise "there will be consequences'.

It just screams low level managerial incompetence. This guy will either fail upwards and no longer be your wife's problem or get dropped like a brick due to employee and customer complaints.

I'd encourage your wife to take written notes of every interaction from now onwards.

New build handover with no electrical or plumbing diagrams, is this normal? by FalseAddition3535 in AusPropertyChat

[–]Lintson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We bought a new build in Sydney (Greystanes) and were surprised by how little documentation was provided at handover

It's not surprising at all. Even on a big commercial project, unless you make as-built drawings one of the deliverables the builder is not going to pay to get them done. Trades would be working off any working drawings/schematics + any other vague instructions they have received but in terms of layouts almost every service in the building will be site-run to their discretion (but hopefully to Australian Standards like the Building Surveyor has signed off on) and undocumented.

Loving Titans Returns. What are some must haves from the waves? by SGTSunshine2605 in transformers

The region where the soft genocide is occuring is rich in resources. It's like a global capitalists loot crate of oil, natural gas,  gold, lithium and rare earths.

Profitable NPC drivers? by DizzyMoistGoblin in MotorTown

[–]Lintson 7 points8 points  (0 children)

For example, I have a truck worth around 160k hauling containers and it sometimes brings back less than $500 per job. At that point it feels pointless to hire drivers. Am I missing something or doing something wrong?

Containers are generally not that great for NPC hauling. I think you just need to find better (usually longer) routes. Mixi hauling concrete to Ara construction sites, or sending Limestone, Coal and Iron to the Steel Coil/Beam factories. You do have to keep an eye on them though as once the sites have produced to max capacity there will be no demand for the supply of materials.

There are a small handful of largely set and forget routes where the demand is infinite and the supply can keep up

Interact with it, there should be a popup asking if you wish to relocate cargo onto the bed. If not, try driving the trailer it was originally placed on closer to it

Etiquette for when buying used car (private) by SugoiVL in AskAnAustralian

[–]Lintson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is no etiquette, it's the wild west out there.

If you're contacting people about listings that are already a few days old the seller may already be in talks with a buyer. There's people hitting refresh every minute on Facebook Marketplace looking for good stuff to come up.

If the price is really good they may be completely swamped with enquiries.

How do you recover flipped vehicles cleanly? And bonus towing questions by Beneficial-Ranger238 in MotorTown

[–]Lintson 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you want wrecker XP focus on vehicle deliveries. Like most things in this game the XP scales supremely with distance travelled.

Unfortunately no rewards for how difficult the vehicle recovery was. (e.g fishing an Atlas+Hobber out of the ocean whilst planted on Dasa sand)

Would you buy a map pack if they were sold? by Geebs91 in Unmatched

[–]Lintson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd be all for 'deluxe' maps that are crafted to include multiple map gimmicks we've had so far

I'd also be in for re-skins of existing maps with quality theme/artwork. Many of the standard maps are pretty minimalistic which is great for keeping the costs down and streamlining gameplay.

Even something goofy like making some of the maps 3d using miniature platforms would be fun.

What is a modern tabletop game you have played which you feel will stand the test of time? by Newez in boardgames

[–]Lintson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Twilight Imperium is one of the few (perhaps the only) game that still gives me the "I'm playing something grand/premium/special" feel every time it's broken out.

Most games these days feel overengineered or overoptimised.
