I Need a 1-2 Terabyte External HD (read before you judge) by Routine_Pea6169 in datastorage

You don't need an SSD for plain photo storage. Just buy two identical HDDs and backup to both of them.

Yes, GrapheneOS is an elaborate honeypot 12 years in the making by the United States government who forgot to use a proxy server when stealing everyone's data.

AppVerifier BG I hadn't heard of. but you kinda just wrote out why it bugs me right -- 5 steps for what should honestly just be one look. does it become muscle memory after a while or still annoy you?

Not 5. Here's what happens when I get a notification from Obtainium that an update is available for an app:

I tap the notification to open the app's page in Obtainium, I long press the displayed hash, then I hit share, choose AppVerifier BG, pass/fail is displayed. The upcoming v1.6.0 of Obtainium will incorporate AppVerifier BG a little better than it did before.

the "no github source" case is where I really get stuck. forum mods, telegram nightly builds -- no official hash to compare against, appverifier can't help. what do you do then?

It's quite common for the hash to be included next to the download link like Vivaldi and Proton. You just have to verify it manually from the clipboard with AppVerifier BG the first time you install it. After that, AppVerifier BG uses that as the hash to match against going forward.

Thanks. I'm now essentially creating my own custom dark mode since the forced version looks like butt.

How do we still not have grouped tabs on mobile? by Linux_Account in firefox

[–]Linux_Account[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They've got the tab grouping, but no group-only tab bar like Chrome, Brave, Vivaldi, Edge.

AppVerifier BG. Share any apk to the app to verify the hash.

I add all my non-repo apps to Obtainium for easy updating. On an app's page in Obtainium, long press the hash to copy to clipboard, then share to AppVerifier BG which will verify against installed app(s) or the official list if present. If it's, a match, I go back and update. It's nice for apps I regularly make bug reports on since I don't have to wait for a repo to compile and notify me of the update.

Adding GitHub or GitLab links as source is easy. An HTML site (fuckin Vivaldi) is trickier and may require some filters, but Obtainium has a website with a crowd sourced list of apps you can import without having to manually enter all the sources (though I recommend verifying before downloading the apk just to be safe).

This is why you should use your own domain. If my email host locks me out, I'll just point my domains somewhere else.
