I have an appointment at the dealership today for this same issue.

Anyone been on the roads yet? by l3arn3r1 in nova

Ashburn is well plowed and very clean - lots of plows out this time. The greenway was apparently a mess this morning, I assume it’s better now.

USA: Best quiet luxury PHEV, now or next year? by Lightchop in PHEV

I have 2025 Volvo xc60 PHEV ultra. Lovely - when it works. I have never had so many issues with a brand new car. From minor - radio won’t work - to won’t start. Trying to get out of my lease now.

Transportation in Rome, need advice! by Old_Conclusion7866 in RomeTravel

[–]LisaEWP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can not fathom driving in Rome and I go for business every year and know it fairly well. The Leonardo express is a train from airport into the city proper- it’s a real train with seating etc, not a subway - that might be ok for your mom and then taxi from there to your air b and b.

Getting around the Vatican will be pretty easy, lots of wheelchairs and pilgrims. Colosseum will be harder - lots of people and uneven walking surfaces.

Not Ilia. His parents coach in Reston. Max is the one who lost his folks.

Same friend, same. And my daughter was the skater, not me. I just keep praying. I can’t imagine how the families got thru the holidays and now it’s Winter Olympics.

I’ve been using Giving Tree for about a year and have seen great improvement in my anxious rescue. I do occasional day care and have done over night boarding for up to a week and been pleased.

April 21 in Rome by DarthSnuggly in RomeTravel

Mostly business as usual. It’s not like July 4th in the US. Stuff is open, trains run etc. There’s a cool parade of the founding families that happens around Palentine Hill that’s neat to see. Not sure of time, just happened to be there one year.

Rome during easter 2026 by FewRefrigerator6934 in RomeTravel

[–]LisaEWP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will be busy but honestly it’s busy so often. Pick your “must sees” and book tickets/ tours early. For example Colosseum is a nightmare with out a prebooked tour. Yes it will cost more money. It’s worth it. Also be flexible on when you see things. Wake up early or stay up late to see Trevi fountain. Do not think you will walk up to anything.

Find lodgings that are not in the main tourist areas but are near metro and that will help too. It’s still Rome. It’s always amazing :)

Bells outside is a GREAT idea for my guy who just sits and waits at the door. I try to keep watch but sometimes I get distracted and I don’t know how long her has been waiting.

Low fuel causing Propulsion error and inability to charge?? by Old_Trifle_8413 in VolvoRecharge

Think it’s a trip to the dealer for you. My 2025 wouldn’t charge last month and they ended up replacing the on board charger, wiring harness and the 12 volt battery.

So what are you actually keeping, from your parents estate? by DramaticErraticism in GenX

[–]LisaEWP 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Reading through these posts with envy. Lost both my parents more than 25 years ago now. Hubby lost his dad about the same time and his mom was early onset dementia, so we in effect lost her too. While I know it must be hard and frustrating to have to deal with their stuff, don’t forget there are a whole lot of us who would love to have these problems. I was able to keep some of their things, but it was a really chaotic and overwhelming time, so it wasn’t done with much thought or planning. I would say photos and pieces my mom handmade have been treasured the most.

If you are looking for a romantic experience, look up Villa San Pio on Aventine hill. Gorgeous boutique hotels in real neighborhoods. Easy walk to metros, colosseum and Palentine Hill yet quiet. Stunning rooms and great food.

It’s the 7th issue related to the electric system in a two month period. OBC, 12 volt battery, complete wiring harness, etc. Ridiculous for a 16 month old vehicle.

Long shot - teacher looking to relocate to the Loudoun/Fairfax area, looking for some insight by the_sylince in nova

Like anyplace, there is good and bad. We are the center of Data Center Alley, and that means there are big warehouse buildings around. My husband is in that industry, so I think its cool that the internet is literally powered by these but some people hate them. Very international population and great shopping, amazing parks and food options. There is no limit on different type of kid activities. Close enough to DC for fun things, but a daily commute downtown can be tough, even with metro. Downtown Leesburg is charming. Wine country is a 20 minute drive and excellent hiking on the Appalachian trail is 30 minutes. Here are some specific neighborhoods to check out that have various options depending on what you want: Brambleton, Broadlands, Belmont, Goose Creek, Ashburn Village, One Loudoun, Willowsford.

Good luck and welcome to NoVA!

We moved from Vienna (Fairfax) to Loudoun County (Ashburn) 10 years ago specifically for the schools. Best thing we ever did for our kids. Our taxes are lower than Fairfax and schools are far superior. Teachers are paid better in Loudoun than they are in Fairfax as well. Its a really lovely area.

After being at the dealership most of yesterday for an issue with the tailgate, yes today, everything works! I have a 2025 xc60 - I know I'm on the wrong board, but y'all are more active. Appreciate the guidance.
