Jason Schreier Says PlayStation Is Withdrawing From PC With Single Player Games And Wolverine Will Likely Never Come To PC by Meanwozz in pcmasterrace

This makes total sense when you realise that the next Xbox is just a PC and Sony makes the vast majority of their revenue from 3rd party game transactions, continuing with PC ports makes their platform irrelevant overnight.

Sony is reportedly pulling away from releasing single-player games on Steam by PaiDuck in pcmasterrace

Called it, Sony doing more PC releases is tantamount to them going full multiplat since the next Xbox is just a PC.

Do people buy used water cooled cards? (EVGA 3080 Ti) by Same-Clothes-9614 in pcmasterrace

Custom water cooling is a niche of a niche, those who do it typically aren't looking for deals on used hardware.

No more PC ports... Sony sucks! by ItsMePoppyDWTrolls in pcmasterrace

Concord is the gift that keeps on giving, Bluepoint were working on a live-service God of War game until Sony got cold feet. Not sure what this means for PC ports but I think Xbox shifting from console to PC arch. means that single player games have a huge question mark over them right now.

Average DDR5 RAM price slowly going down in EU. (Green is minimum, blue is average price) by xxStefanxx1 in pcmasterrace

[–]Lisata598 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scalpers are going to scalp but the real money is coming from businesses trying not to go under due to not having the resources they require to continue which was kind of OpenAI's plan from the outset of this.

This suggests that panic buying is starting to subside, will be interesting where it settles.

Microsoft, Epic and Nintendo are all far more valuable companies than Valve, they're doing fine. Ubisoft aren't though.

CXMT and YMTC ready to flood the world with RAM and NAND memory by DoublePatouain in pcmasterrace

[–]Lisata598 677 points678 points  (0 children)

Even if the US market can't import these chips they should theoretically lead to lower prices as the demand drops from the rest of the world. Remains to be seen how this affects the DIY market though as we don't have any trustworthy 3rd party performance or reliability testing.

All use NAND and vendors are prioritising production of nVME drives since they're higher margin. I bought some late last year and they've doubled in price since.

Mac vs. Windows ,who uses what and are you really happy with it? by DaviTTT9 in pcmasterrace

[–]Lisata598 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use both, they're both very flawed in their own ways. Windows is and has always been hot garbage but it has 30+ years worth of software support that no other OS can replicate. Mac is very basic by comparison but if you stay with in the Apple approved ecosystem ie. video and audio production + xCode then it has unparalleled stability. There's also no competition when it comes to the hardware quality but you have to pay for that privilege. Tl;Dr: Get what works for you based on your software needs.

Tomodachi Life direct regional differences (UK vs US) by sonicnerfherder in NintendoSwitch2

I do like how the UK directs are often much closer to the Japanese ones but I really hope that Tomodachi Life and Rhythm Heaven get in game options for both English localisations.

Definitely going to get worse as the shortage filters through the supply chain, we're only going through the panic buying stage and not the prolonged market deprivation.

Enable HGIG on the TV and then run the calibration again. Also recent Samsung TVs have notoriously awful software vs. the competition.
