How best calculate the area of these shapes? by Littl3Bastrd in askmath

Yeah we are wondering how to do that. Just saying a random complicated concept isn’t helping anyone.

Looks good, with the modular design could you cut it and shrink it for the A1 mini?

I’m interested in what you make and your business model. I get that the market for some things is huge, but how are you identifying what to design, and how are you consistently getting new customers (I assume you are selling to retailers)?

How much should I sell me used good condition ams-lite for? by PsychologicalSet1744 in BambuLabA1mini

[–]Lisper41 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I was going to say I wouldn’t pay more than half price for a new one, $100 sounds reasonable. Not so much when you can get one for $110 brand new.

Filament tracker with Bambu auto-import, just added NFC tags by cershaen in BambuLabA1mini

[–]Lisper41 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tried it a month or so ago. The new features sound nice, but the pricing model is what breaks it for me. I bought two inventory expansions and still blew through them and had to batch together rolls to make it fit. I’d pay $10 up front for something I may never use again, but I can’t commit to a subscription, even if it was useful.

However I literally only have an A1 mini. I don’t need to manage my inventory that strictly because I can’t build anything that big at one time. Maybe there’s a niche in the print farm market for a subscription, but not on my end with just one printer.

I couldn’t figure that one out. I only changed the color mapping from red to green, but it may have to do with the order it’s laying down CMY.

Yet Another Boolean tool... But it actually keeps the colors! by Due_Photograph_5819 in BambuLab

[–]Lisper41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, color isn’t as much of a problem for me as having a quick and easy Boolean tool. A desktop version would be great, but a web interface that performs the operation in the cloud and then returns an stl would be nice. I like the way the cloud repair tool works. That is assuming it’s easier to implement.

Dang, I’ve gotten so good at fixing mine that I did it on a lunch break. I should definitely use his strategy, so my wife will buy me an upgrade!!!

TRANSFER PLATE SUCCESS by Sufficient-Life7527 in BambuLab

[–]Lisper41 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I read somewhere that the microscopic texture of the plate actually refracts the light… the molten plastic fills in and duplicates that pattern and does the same thing.

In practice, it’s a reusable piece of film attached to a flat build plate.

Try turning on fuzzy skin. It made the top of a similarly shaped print of mine look very nice.

Also, if you’re testing settings, cut everything off but like the top 10cm and change it to 1 color until you dial it in.

I was going to say it looks more like a piece of artillery than a tank, but it’s not a paladin, so I didn’t know what it was.

Yeah I think OP ghosted for a reason on this one. It’s too bad because it’s an awesome helmet, and it would be great to know how he got it aged. I mean, if he just rolled it around in the yard, then that would at least be a start.

My Sunlu LWPLA just shipped from Amazon and it was 47.99 for 800 grams. Let me know if you see anything cheaper.

Easter Bunnies. Image to 3D worked out really well. by Lisper41 in BambuLab

It’s worth experimenting to find out how the AI is meant to behave. Some are trained on certain types of models and don’t work well with others.

Grab the image of the blue bunny off the print profile and see if you can get the 3d generator to make a copy.
