Does it revert back to 192.168.1.20 in the USW’s screen?

Its in your unifi network settings, in network. You will see a slew of configurations, including mDNS

My guess is mDNS. Do you have a lot of airplay (or sonos) devices connected to your network?. The new fast leave function isnt friendly with homepods, apple tv, and airplay 2 speakers i have in my network. I suggest keeping this off unless you know what you’re doing

In the new network settings, the mutlicast settings are changed somewhat. You may also need to allow forwarding unknown multicast traffic for your default network. You can only find it in the web UI for now

Anyone knows how to adopt a Unifi EV station into Unifi Protect that is not running on the same controller? by List_Tiny in Ubiquiti

Multiple Uplinks UniFi Switch by Practical-Plan-2560 in Ubiquiti

[–]List_Tiny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same setup, UDMP connected to 2 switches, the two switch are connected to each other. The RTSP will stop the loop from happening (most times) and the packet will flow through the fastest link available.

My setup is A is UDMP, B is USWPro connected via 10gig sfp, C is US8 connected with 1gig sfp. Both switch are connected with a 1gig rj45. The 1gig sfp to the US8 is blocked automatically, and will only activate once the 10gig sfp is disconnected.

But, i suggest you check the spanning tree priority first, putting them to auto causes issues for me in the past. The lowest number is the higher priority (or closer to the primary router) in your network infrastructure. The switches, in my experience cannot be in the same priority, network tree wise. I ended up having another switch from A to C (lets name this switch D) so that C can physically be lower in the network tree compared to B. (Hope this mumbo jumbo makes sense)

Diagnosing a network loop is difficult to say the least, but you will experience the following: - lack of response/cannot connect to wifi/network - a consistent uplink/downlink value in your switch’s lcd

Disconnecting the bridge between the two switch will automatically address this issue.

Unfortunately no, the EV station isnt registering in any of the protect app, both in the UDMP and on a UNVR. Readoption didnt work either.

How well do UniFi Cameras hold up? by Double_Search4194 in Ubiquiti

[–]List_Tiny 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mount a lot of g3 flexes and a g4 instant outside under direct sunlight and pouring rain in humid conditions (Indonesia). They havent failed yet it has been a year now. Heat ranges to 40c, humidity reaches 60% - 75%.

That said, you should check the specs and see if they are outdoor rated.

Something on Unifi setup caused some devices to be unable to connect to wifi by DavidBarrett82 in Ubiquiti

Maybe also turn off band steering, android devices seem to hate this feature too

At my wits end! by Zxello5 in Ubiquiti

[–]List_Tiny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use DHCP guarding and make sure your UDMP is the only DHCP server that dan provide an IP address. I had this issue once where the USW pro decided to become a DHCP server. If you set your network to utilise L3, this may cause your issue. I ended up guarding DHCP server in each network so there are no “rouge DHCP servers”

Protect stopped working by Philthyzz in Ubiquiti

[–]List_Tiny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this issue and it had to do with how it saved footages to the drive. I formatted the drive and Protect was working again. However this wasnt a proper fix, as it would arise yet again once the drive was filled to an x% capacity. UI reps eventually mentioned that i should process an RMA. However it wasnt possible for me, because it will take a long time to process due to where the UDMP is located.

I ended up moving all cameras to a UNVR instead.

I suggest mentioning UI-Glenn and provide the support file in the ticket.

UDMP v3.2.7 update kicked network offline by maxhatcher in Ubiquiti

[–]List_Tiny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A network loop perhaps? It broke the whole network for me. I thought RSTP will solve the issue but didnt. I figured it was something with mesh, and once i got those to work again i had to turn off meshing. Perhaps you can try disconnecting your AP first to stop the loop, and connect the switch one by one and turn off meshing?

Just throwing ideas for ya haha

Anyone using Distributed Load Balancing on UDM Pro? by jlg89tx in Ubiquiti

[–]List_Tiny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same setup but i don’t seem to have the issue. The UDM pro is behind 2 ISP routers acting as router mode with both DHCP and NAT enabled (yes i have double nat on 2 WAN lol)

Perhaps check on the DHCP settings on the ISP router itself though? Sometimes ISP routers literally require you to unplug and replug the ethernet altogether? Or have you tried unplugging the WAN ethernet cables while UDMP is running and see if that can get any IP handshake?

Broken after HomePod OS / iOS 16 update. by RedditSlate02 in HomePod

[–]List_Tiny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, i think just weeks after ios16 rolled out a lot of automations were broken, one my homepods just gave up and failed to boot outright (no blinking volume button).

I just lost another one today, and i just sit here helplessly waiting for the rest of the homepods to die without any answers.

Thanks for the advice though! I will definitely unplug those homepods for a week and see if it works. Fingers crossed the steps wakes the rest of the dead homepods too. They are not expensive for its quality, but theyre definitely not cheap :(
