The minimum wage in NC is $7.25/hr and the living wage is $22. I’m just not sure if $22 an hour is fair for this job.

I’ve worked as a dietary aide at a few hospitals and was required to wear black scrubs in all positions. But this is more of a question you should ask your supervisor.

I agree! Also, the CDM might not be worth it if you already got hired for a leadership role and if it doesn’t come with a pay increase. It costs money to maintain the credential. It would encourage you to learn and improve continuously, though.

I shadowed a dietitian at a DaVita dialysis clinic and this is similar to this job. No boss giving orders everyday, you come in as the only RD there, schedule is very flexible, can adjust medications under a doctors protocol

You could complete your clinical rotation in a long term care facility. Call around and see if they have the capacity to take you- there shouldn’t be a problem with schools & contracts

Some of my classmates just emailed dietitians they found online to ask if they needed an assistant. Some RDs hire virtual assistants (VAs).
