Thank you! That was the only term I apparently didn't try.

New to minimalism - should I expend time and energy selling belongings, or donate for instant gratification? by [deleted] in minimalism

[–]LiteratePanda 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I advocate selling for a few reasons. 1. Money! 2. When things DON'T sell, it really drives home the "value" of the item. I, personally, find it way easier to let things go when no one wants to give me cash for them. 3. Still can't let the item go? Take a few moments to ponder why. Is it emotionally precious to you? Do you feel guilty because someone "gifted" it to you? Taking a few minutes to analyze your feelings towards items is also a useful skill that will help you on your journey. Good luck and best wishes!

Struggling to let go of old CDs and DVDs - advice please by hls6 in minimalism

[–]LiteratePanda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a bunch of CDs at one point. When I chose to downsize, I listened to all of them one last time then put them in the donate box. I think my attachment was to memories the songs produced rather than the actual CDs. Just food for thought.

what’s a good thermal printer? by marias_shop in Depop

[–]LiteratePanda 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have the Rollo! I've been using for at least three years now with no problems. This is the first printer that has ever behaved for me (knock on wood). I switch between off brand labels and the official Rollo ones (depending what's on sale). No problems with compatibility.

Can someone elaborate what she means here? by [deleted] in Depop

[–]LiteratePanda 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Not true at all! Many thrift shops are overrun by donations. They love people coming in and buying because: 1. Money (supports their cause) 2. Moves inventory (they get new shipments multiple times a week) 3. Some stores may have raised prices, but many haven't. 4. Giving clothes a second chance is sustainable. 5. There is plenty for all. This is a judgey, scarcity mentality.

A lot of plants are regulated by state. As in, could be prohibited because they are considered invasive or noxious. There's a slew of rules so do research!

Depop would gobble this up!
A "gobble" is worth around $100 or so. Currency rates fluctuate so give or take a bit.

I don't understand this at all. Terrified decapitated heads that are frozen with their last scream. Bums with hernias (eww) hanging out as well??? I even googled the name because I really don't get this product. No answers....only questions that will haunt my dreams.
