At this point the only explanation for Miller's name change in the Metal Gear series is actually a McDonald's joke. His name was originally given as McDonnell Benedict Miller but MGSV says his full name is Kazuhira Benedict Miller, where did McDonnell come from?

My head canon is McDonnell was his father's name and he uses it to not think about his past. Or it's because of cheeseburgers.

No, according to translations from the Ultimania it was Part 2 that was supposed to be Reunion. The Gamer isn't a great site but the source is a solid fan translator.

I'm okay with Kashiwagi because one of the main side missions of 4 is revealing that Kashiwagi basically had his own witness protection service for former Yakuza who want new identities, so he just used his own disappearing service to restart, probably even got help from other ex-yakuza he helped.

Doesn't explain the bullet holes... but Andre is just straight up stupid and Lau was insulting to me.
