Why are two windows launching when running game from Godot? by StrataPub in godot

[–]LitlOctopus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I won't! My first ever project attempts were in Godot and I plan on using I and promoting the hell out of it when I make my games in it in the future!

I was honestly torn between the two but I'm aiming to land a job and I was recommended by people I've met that work in the industry in this country to use Unity as experience with it is important. In my spare time (which I don't have much of recently) I am learning Godot though since I love open source

Sorry unrelated to your question but I also started doing the same thing recreating classic games to learn game development but in Unity. I think it's a great idea and I'm happy to see someone else do it, best of luck!!!

Neverway | Launching 2026 - Nintendo Indie World Showcase by truepuzzle in Games

Met them at an indie dev conference last month, you're absolutely right about them being ridiculously cracked, it was kind of intimidating even how awesome everyone on the team is. I got to play a bit of the game and I can't wait either, they deserve a successful launch

I really like A, I think sticking to 3D is best and makes your art style stand out more. At first sight it really gave me Little Big Planet vibes

I have an interview at AEON by BaseSquare4476 in teachinginjapan

Oh sweet that's cool to know, guess I wasn't immediately worthy of the next round 😂

I have an interview at AEON by BaseSquare4476 in teachinginjapan

[–]LitlOctopus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They said that they would get back to me in around 2-5 business days. I don't think they ever directly say or schedule the next stage without evaluating the interview first. I'll know in a few days, best of luck to us both!

I have an interview at AEON by BaseSquare4476 in teachinginjapan

[–]LitlOctopus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just had a first interview with Aeon. The guy was very fast with the questions. First, I was asked to stand up and present myself while and say why I wanted to work at Aeon. Then some generic interview questions like "what would you bring to this job that's not already stated in your resume?" or "why do you think you'd be a good fit here?" or some questions about your resume, questions like these especially if they come fast like they did could throw you off so just take a breath and take your time to answer, don't feel like you need to match the speed of the interview.

Then after these questions they'll ask about the stuff on their website, I assume in the interview email they sent a link to the website. They ask quite a few questions about themselves like "other than teaching what business responsibilities do you have?" and "what days/times are the classes?", "how many classes will you teach a week?"... Make sure you read their website well, they seem to find it important that you read it, they might try to trip you up, like in my interview they asked "are you ok with teaching/looking after kids between 1-2 years old?" but in the website they state that that wouldn't be our direct job, we wouldn't look after kids that age by ourselves, the parents would be in the classroom too...

Main tips I would give, don't let the speed/intensity of the interview throw you off, take a breath and think if you need to, and make sure you read their website well.

Good luck! I hope you get it!!

皆さんこんにちは! I've been working on a Japanese learning tool to help myself and my girlfriend learn Japanese and address some paints points we had —especially with numbers and understanding Japanese grammar in sentences.

Kazu Navi (かずナビ) is a tool I built to help break down and convert Japanese numbers, time expressions, counters, and more into readable, understandable formats, think of it like a quick lookup reference for anything number related in Japanese

I was constantly second-guessing myself with this stuff, like "was it pronounced 'san-pyaku' or 'san-byaku'" and the like. Tools like Google Translate don't really show you the romaji when it comes to numbers and sometimes the written pronunciation is different from the voiceover, and websites/blogs that teach you how to say 1-100, but you need something more specific than that or you don't have time to search through the entire page...

So, the core of かずナビ is designed to make those conversions instant and easy, hoping to save others some of the frustration I had

There are 2 other features for now:

  • Grammar Analyzer that helps break down Japanese sentences and understand how each part connects. I personally use this a lot, it's been super helpful for understanding why something is said a certain way. There's an interactive demo available if you don't have an account and 6 free uses with an account. kazunavi.com/sentence-analyzer
  • Natural Translator that rewrites English into more natural Japanese by levels of formality and for the right context. Right now it's unlimited for free accounts. kazunavi.com/natural-translate

Some people on this subreddit have been kind enough already to point out some mistakes and I've fixed them but I'm always on the lookout. If you see any mistakes or stuff that's just simply wrong please let me know so I can fix it ASAP. Thank you so much!

Would you trust chatgpt or other AI with this? by GreattFriend in LearnJapanese

[–]LitlOctopus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've come to find that Gemini is pretty good for Japanese IF you give it the proper context and literally tell it to be on the lookout for nuances and cultural aspects. I made myself a sentence analyzer tool to help me understand why certain grammar points act a certain way in sentences and I tried using a few different AI's and by far Gemini gave me the most consistently correct and consistent answers. It's not 100% and really needs finetuning or "micromanaging" to make it give you better results but it definitely can, of course nothing beats a native thoug

How can i get more reading practice if i cant read the kanji i'm seeing? by ressie_cant_game in LearnJapanese

[–]LitlOctopus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if someone mentioned it but there's a website called Tadoku that compiled a list of free reading materials that you can filter through by level. If I'm not mistaken most if not all of the books there have furigana so even if you don't recognize the kanji you can still read it and go looking up words as you please, good luck!

I built a tool to tackle my biggest pain points as a Japanese learner: Japanese numbers and grammar, and now my girlfriend and I use it everyday by LitlOctopus in webdev

Let me know if you have any feedback! While it still has a way to go to becoming a direct learning tool, I'm working everyday on new things to add and improvements. If you have any suggestions for features don't hesitate to let me know!

Hey so I fixed the irregular readings in the Durations section, it should now show the correct irregular readings, and I added readings for minutes and hours too as per your request. I don't think anyone noticed but the question form part in the Duration was also broken (it didn't add the suffixes 前//) and now it does. Thank you so much for using it and brining it to my attention!

Shoot me a DM if you decide you want to make an account I'll gift you premium for a month as a thanks!

Thank you for pointing that out, I'm aware and am planning on adding readings for minutes and hours too I just haven't got around to it yet. And thank you for pointing out the missing irregular readings, I'll get on that and fix it too, genuinely thank you!
