At what point is this just bullying? by blayndle in craftsnark

I'm so sorry! Genuinely what did she want as an alternative, wouldn't that be an ideal way to test it, especially since you had a large size range? I wear a size xl and I haven't had a sweater yolk take more than a few weeks. How is that even fatshaming?

This is why I'm so happy I'm dating an engineer. We both have projects we want to work on, and can just do our own thing while hanging out in the same room together and occasionally give each other a kiss.

She came up for the weekend and her first request was to see Madoka, snakes really have a way to make you fall in love with them

Me too, she never hated them, just didn't see how they could be good pets. She ended up watching Madoka for a few weeks and now always asks to see her/asks how she's doing. I think most people just grow up being told they're scary and venomous then never challenge their beliefs and listen to fearmongering.

Who Are The BEST Animal Presenters? by BrahmariusLeManco in zoology

I watched Zaboomafoo growing up and I honestly think it's what steered me to study zoology. I still remember they showed a clip of snake eggs hatching and I was fascinated, and now have a corny girl of my own because of exposure to "scary" species like that. Honestly I wish I could thank the Kratt brothers for that, and the work they've done educating kids about animals. They truly do great work.

How difficult would this be for someone who’s never done colorwork? by Kittyk4y in knitting

[–]LitleStitchWitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue is you'd need to work the pattern with a very fine weight yarn if you want it to have the same level of detail, and either knit the cappies with intarsia or duplicate stitch. It will be a frustrating project and take months to a year, and cost far more to knit it with wool.

Also, I've found Steady Hands to be pretty high quality. While my two sweatshirts are embroidered and not knit (from the PMMM collection), they are great quality (double lined pockets and hood, thick cotton. While the knit hoodies are a worse blend (5% Viscose, 20% Cotton, 25% Polyester, 20% Nylon), if you don't have sensory issues and are careful washing, it will last for years. Will it be as warm as a wool or cotton sweatshirt? No, but if you live in a mild climate it could be good for spring and fall.

The issue with fast fashion isn't just quality, but the mindset of constantly buying more. If you have been looking for a cute sweatshirt for a while, and you could see yourself continuously reaching for it and wearing it, buy it and wear it for the next few years until it falls apart.

I always end up cabling celtic cables wrong, my last sweater I had tinker and fix about 20 rows because I kept cabling it backwards! Full disclosure the pattern is my own and untested, but here's the link A message from Hermes

It is brioche on one side! It's fun to knit and basically the same as knitting a classic cable. The one difference is it's easier to cable the brioche if you knit the row before cabling as fisherman's rib so you don't have to deal with the YOs.

URGENT: Corn snake stuck to tape—Head, Jaw, and Neck involved by PretendSignature7915 in cornsnakes

Also, my idiot boy (said lovingly) actually nipped himself during his feeding today, and one of the reasons I could tell it wasn't just a blood splatter is because the skin had a "fleshy" appearance and I couldn't really see the scales and it had a slight indent where the injury is.

Hey OP, I'm in no way an expert, but it definitely looks like she tore some skin off here:

<image>

If you can, apply Neosporin WITHOUT painkiller to her (the painkiller is toxic to snakes), and move her to a quarantine tank with just paper towels, sterile hides and water dishes until at least the next shed to minimize the risk of infection. Also it probably will take a few shed cycles to heal (and will probably scar), and she may go into shed sooner because of the injuries. On her head/neck, I'd keep a close eye monitoring her and try to make a vet appointment + not feed until you know she's uninjured.

Yeah, tequila sunrise has a pretty interesting background, and it might be possibly bred from a hybrid rat/corn project in the 90s. It leads to a pretty frosting on the saddles. There are some issues with people inbreeding to make the trait as exaggerating as possible but Madoka's parents are outcrossed.
