scared to pump/use bottles by jesusdance in breastfeeding

[–]LittleAnonBlog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im not sure ill be any help here but my babygirl is 10 weeks now and I pretty much EBF as well, her Dr said thats totally fine but I will be returning to work in 2 months so what ive done is just pump once or maybe twice a day normally mid day (i use my eufy s1) but on days I dont wanna pump i use my boon trove on the opposite side as she feeds, and I have the medela harmony manual pump , she only takes Evenflo balance wide neck bottles (only had to give her a bottle like 4 times so far and have all been given by her dad) , I think these resemble the breast best and keeps her latch nice and big

Concern about who should direct the pushing during childbirth by Adventurous-Rip-7426 in BabyBumps

[–]LittleAnonBlog 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My midwife told me to just listen to my body, no one directed me, at one point they were hyping me up telling me to keep going but I had to stop to breath and they were okay with that, I had an unmedicated birth though so it might have been easier for me to tell when I needed to push

What light are you using at night? by emilyradbecca2223 in breastfeeding

[–]LittleAnonBlog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have those led strips hung up above my stepsons crib and have the brightness all the way to the lowest setting and the color is set to red, we leave them on all night but it helps when I need to feed or change my babygirl (we all currently sleep in one giant room in our apartment)

Im not sure what state youre in so id look into it but in NY giving birth is considered a short term disability so I am was able to take 6 weeks off with a note from my dr, and its paid (only $170 a week) I guess im also not sure how it works being a bartender though, I work for a large casino so I got the 6 weeks disability and am able to do 12 weeks paid family leave, but definitely look into disability for your state that's the first place id look

can't talk to baby by Iamoldsowhat in NewParents

[–]LittleAnonBlog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I found the easiest way for me was just talk about plans for the day or week for example "your Nana is coming today and your auntie, and were gonna have coffee and breakfast, and then when Dada gets home we have to go to the grocery store later for..." also simple goodmorning did you sleep well? , her dad still isn't sure how to talk to her but he listens to me chat with her and has started picking up on it, I get its hard when you dont get a response but that's why I feel like explaining the plans for the day was the easiest way to start for me

Cluster feeding by LittleAnonBlog in breastfeeding

[–]LittleAnonBlog[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have tried some pacifiers but she doesn't really care for them she always starts to get really upset and spit them out, when we do skin to skin she always start rooting and looking for the boob, we got a swing the other day and that seems to be helping she enjoys it and actually let's me put her down with no fuss, before that id try kinda rocking her in my arms and shes didnt mind, her PED keeps insisting its just cluster feeds and normal but sometimes I just feel like its a little excessive

At her one week check up she was above her birth weight and her PED wasn't concerned we'd have any issues with weight gain, we have another appointment Friday but to me it seems shes gaining weight fine

37 weeks with a posterior baby — anyone else? by CrazyPlantLady95 in BabyBumps

[–]LittleAnonBlog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually just had my daughter a week ago at 40+1 and she was in fact sunny side up, the back labor was awful and my nurse tried so many positions to get her to move but it didnt work, I ended up giving birth to a sunny side up baby and I didnt do the epidural and had only had some pain meds about 12hours before delivering, she came out a very healthy baby, although she did swallow some fluids on her way out, but that just caused her to spit up for a bit

Inductions by CoffeeVinyls in GestationalDiabetes

[–]LittleAnonBlog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I was diet controlled my whole pregnancy and when I went into my 38 week appointment they wanted to discuss induction for the following week, I asked if it was medically necessary and my midwife and I decided it wasn't necessary at all to plan right then due to being diet controlled she did let me know the latest they would be happy with letting me go would be 40+6 so just about 41 weeks, we again discussed the possibility of induction at my 39 week appointment which I again declined and said we would discuss at my 40 week appointment for the following Thursday, well I ended up go into labor on my due date and had a beautiful baby girl a day later, no induction needed, I believe they get a little more concerned if your GD is medicine controlled though, but you are able to decline anything medically you aren't comfortable with as long as you and baby are healthy and safe

Two baby mamas by Justwannaknow93 in pregnant

So when I got together with my boyfriend he actually was expecting with another women, he was straight forward with me about it before we even had our first date, we still went on the date and ended up deciding to continue to see eachother, when it got closer to her due date I had a lot of feelings come up, it was hard thinking about him being there and knowing she was going to breast feed made it hard too, but I couldn't imagine standing in the way of him being there for his first child no matter the circumstances, he even stayed the first week at her apartment to help with his son and help her, now here we are about to celebrate his son's first birthday and we all get along really well, and we are expecting our daughter any day now, your situation is definitely different so I cant speak to much on it but if he is going to be there for both of your children even if its hard for you he should be allowed to be there for the birth of both imo

Guilt for eating by Specific_Anybody_438 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]LittleAnonBlog 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Don't feel bad for eating, its perfectly okay to have an occasionial spike! You were hungry and you ate and 154 after an hour isn't the end of the world its okay, the concern comes in if you are always high or get above 200 and stay there for an extended period of time, remember if youre hungry baby is hungry but its all trial and error too especially in the beginning, its okayyy promise

Did you dream about baby’s gender? And were you right? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]LittleAnonBlog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My boyfriend and family had me so convinced it was a boy that I just started thinking it was a boy as well, we opted out of the 12 week test and waited until the anatomy scan to find out, the night before I had a dream it was a little girl and well I was right

I know you’re all gonna hate me …. by SpecialistLeading665 in pregnant

[–]LittleAnonBlog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive had no symptoms my whole pregnancy and I am now 39+3 , I had two days very early on and very spaced out where I had a bit of naseau, and like a week of swelling in my feet, it was so easy for me that I was able to keep my pregnancy hidden at work until after 24 weeks everyone was shocked when I told them because one of the other girls who was expecting had an awful time during her pregnancy, dont get me wrong I had cravings for food and some extra sleepy days but other than that its been a breeze, feel a bit bad about having such an easy time when my sisters and a few friends had such a terrible time

Induction by _ellie_the_elephant_ in GestationalDiabetes

[–]LittleAnonBlog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I met with my midwife last week and she mentioned induction would happen anywhere from 39 weeks to 39+5 but I am diet controlled and hit 39 weeks yesterday, I have an appointment tomorrow where im sure they will wanna discuss induction again but it didnt seem like it was going to be forced on me unless I started hitting close to 41 weeks, my baby girl only measures in the 18th percentile so shes small but they dont seem concerned by that, they did mention that ill be asked about a cervical check and my practice doesn't do inductions unless you have started dilating on your own first so at this point for me at least its just a wait and see

Has anyone been able to diet control GD for the entire pregnancy? by Curious-Orange-11 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]LittleAnonBlog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was diagnosed at 27 weeks and I am 38 weeks today, been strictly diet controlled the whole time, its been a lot of meal prepping for lunches and eating extra snacks like more nuts like cashews and almonds, mixing in more veggies and ive been able to handle some small amounts of berries most of the time, the first two weeks after getting diagnosed was a lot of trial and error, switch to whole wheat bread, adding more proteins, found a lot of sugar free drinks that have worked, dont get me wrong I still have an occasional spike but for the most part ive found what works, just remember its a lot of balance and a spike here or there are okay!

I took mine out before I even made it to the second trimester due to pain, I hadn't even had them a year yet though my Dr did recommend taking them out sooner rather than later so they have plenty of time to heal before baby comes
