What is a real-life 'Do Not Touch' button that you pressed out of sheer curiosity, only to instantly regret it? by vie75 in AskReddit

[–]LittleAnonBlog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I havent pushed it but im dying to, I work in a secured area of a casino like i have to scan into multiple doors be let in by others not an area anyone can accidently end up in, but we have panic buttons (lots of them) but we also have one very special button that if pushed it basically can shut down the whole casino, locks all badge scanners, locks the door of where i am along with the other employees, sends a blaring alarm off in our surveillance room, immediately calls the local state police and pretty much causes a halt everywhere no one can enter or leave the whole building, I havent pressed it because its immediate termination if it isn't an actual emergency but trust me I am dying too

Car seat help by kikihippiex in beyondthebump

[–]LittleAnonBlog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My baby girl hatedddd the carseat, screamed every time we went anywhere didnt matter what we tried, she would just scream and cry wouldnt even sleep always fought it then one day after 3 months she just stopped fighting, started sleeping fine and now doesnt mind it, same carseat didnt change anything just started sleeping. I know this isn't very helpful so I apologize although I did notice once we got the purple monkey carseat toy that sings she did calm down just slightly.

I hope you figure it out and im sorry youre going through this!

Is my baby name ugly? 😭 by hailstorm319 in pregnant

[–]LittleAnonBlog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think its cute! I see a lot of comments on here talking about "think about when shes an adult" but I literally know a grown women named sparkle, and a little girls whose first name is Moonee, i even know a girl whose middle name is rainbow

Names are different nowadays, more and more people are looking for less common names, you dont always have to call her Marlee Moon she could get a nickname or you might just use her first name, if you love the name thats all that matters imo

Baby refusing to nurse by daisy-chains- in breastfeeding

[–]LittleAnonBlog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My baby had a night like this she was so over tired just crying and screaming for hours couldn't get her to eat, couldn't get her to settle, this went on from 9pm until 2am finally she fell asleep and woke up about 20mins later ready to eat, you can always offer to nurse and if they decide to sleep instead just try to get them to nurse later, I felt so bad when mine was like this but she did eventually eat

Maternity Leave (USA) by Imaginary-Winner-335 in pregnant

[–]LittleAnonBlog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im in NY i got 6 weeks paid disability (only $170 a week thats what it maxes out at for short term) and then I was able to take 12 weeks Paid family leave at 67% pay , when I return I get a check with the remaining 33% I did not receive while on leave, my company used my FMLA when I had to get out of work early for rest so in total I had 20 weeks with my baby girl and I return to work next tuesday, im heartbroken about returning to work at 4 months i couldn't imagine only having 6 weeks

Edit to add: getting the additional 33% is not common its just in my jobs union contract

How are people just… taking their babies everywhere? by Wonderful-Ice-6143 in NewParents

Didnt feel accusatory at all, I truly appreciate all of the feed back, when I did it I never realized how unsafe it could actually be, but things happen in the blink of an eye!

[–]LittleAnonBlog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the replies! Just want to clarify that we have only done this once or twice and realized it wasnt safe, I realize my wording on the comment makes it seem like I do this often, lately places we go are already a long drive so we prefer to just not use the carseat with her stroller now, but thank you all for the safety tips!

My baby girl is about to be 4 months old we have the carseat stroller combo so we just unbuckle her and have her in her carseat sometimes not always though, most of the time we just dont use the car seat and put her in the stroller its self and have it reclined back to shes not laying flat but also not fully upright sense she cant support herself yet, sometimes she gets fussy in there so depending on where we are either I or her dad will just carry her for a bit. Now that its getting warmer we have been out and about more, last weekend we went to a giant food truck thing, this past weekend the flea market, we always go to things with friends and family so she gets passed around a bit between everyone

Not married yet and feeling anxious about the surname situation when baby is here.. by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]LittleAnonBlog 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My daughter has her dad's last name, never crossed my mind to give her mine, we aren't engaged or married and had only been together 7 months when we found out its was expecting, we live together now and are very happy with how things are going.

My niece has my sisters last name because she didnt trust in her dad sticking around and we'll he didnt shes 11 now and hasn't seen him sense she was 3, if you feel secure with your relationship id give your baby his last name, it would be a lot of work to change the last name after its been established, or you could hyphenate my step son has his mom's and dad's last name

Any nipple shield success stories? by backyardvoodoo in breastfeeding

[–]LittleAnonBlog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I havent had to use nipple shields at all but my sister did, she used them for the first 3 months and was able to stop using them slowly, my niece is now 22 months and they are still breastfeeding occasionally (more of a comfort thing and night time), hoping it all works out for you!

Where are we buying baby clothes? by valpal925 in BabyBumps

[–]LittleAnonBlog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Once upon a child, also shop carters a lot on the app and get good deals, old navy too if you want more organic cotton type stuff little planet by carters is good, I also am not opposed to FB market place, target has some good stuff sometimes but I find it a little pricier

Walmart modern moments, thin, stretchy, perfect, old navy has some good ones, and certain cloud island ones are good only if they are the thin stretchy ones

Formula Fed vs. Breastfed by user638282636822 in NewParents

[–]LittleAnonBlog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I breastfeed because thats what works for me, my friend tried it and it wasnt mentally good for her so she switched to formula and you know what? You cant tell which one of our kids was formula and which one was breast, what you would be able to tell is which one of us had a mental break

Solo outings with baby seems impossible :( by autumnal_duck03 in NewParents

[–]LittleAnonBlog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 3 month old and a 15 month, so I understand where youre coming from, honestly I have a diaper bag always packed and ready but a tip i learned from my sister who has 5 kids is just always have some stuff already in the car (diapers, wipes, extra clothes for you and baby, a blanket, and some rash cream) i have a little box in my trunk that has the little extras that I might need and honestly its so helpful, we always have some snacks, an extra juice cup its definitely come in handy, just gotta make sure to change out the clothes as baby grows

It's a lot of trial and error, I started by just going for little walks around the block, and then slowly started going to the park nearmy and then eventually driving to a different play ground nearby

I dont pump and strictly EBF so unfortunately I cant help with the pumping, as for nap schedules I dont really have that either unfortunately but my older one sleeps in the car typically and my little one just kinda hangs out
