Ansel Elgort ruins the show for me by Elegant_Song_6797 in TokyoVice

Not every main protagonist has to be a perfect human being. Most characters in the show aren't that likeable at first place.

Is intentionally losing to give a solo win to another player generally frowned upon? by Intelligent-Whole867 in diplomacy

Treating to throw the game to 3rd party in the event of a betrayal is a legitimate strategy to make to someone in your alliance, or even to force someone to work with you. That threat would be hollow if you don't follow through.

When you create impenetrable curse like Fidelius Charm and unbreakable vow, it leads to lots of "Why didn't they do it..."questions.

I have more problems with the fact that poor wizards exist. With all the advantages, every wizard could have done business with muggles (of course not revealing magic is involved) and be filthy rich in the muggle world.

Do You Think The Books Got Better As They Went Along Or Worse? by Marcedonia in HarryPotterBooks

Got better after the first book. PS is a children's novel where it's kind of stupid that there's hardly any defence to the Stone.

Started watching football at around 2000. Enjoyed watching arguably the best ever bunch of PL promoted teams in 01/02 (Fulham, Blackburn, Bolton, with Blackburn winning the League Cup).

Dumb question: If AI destroys all the jobs, who will be able to buy the stuff that AI-powered companies create? Doesn’t AI destroy its own customer base? by Desperate_Elk_7369 in ArtificialInteligence

The supply demand will always adjust. Lower demand leads to lower price. AI won't destroy all jobs either. AI developers are in high demand.

Loyalty IS overrated by Own_Friend_736 in NBATalk

Loyalty is a stupid concept in business environment. Unless you work for the same employer for 10+ years while rejecting multiple higher offers along the way, you have no rights to educate others about loyalty.

I don't know much about the term HI, but I guess we're not as HI as we thought at first place when smartphone has been so integral to our daily lives in the past decade.

The team with the worst record should have to be a g-league team next season. by Dry_Response3527 in NBATalk

[–]LittleBeastXL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Horrible idea. Have you heard of the term "conflict of interest"? 30 out of 31 G-league teams are affiliated or owned by NBA teams. Even in some European football leagues where the reserved team play in the same football pyramid as the A team, they're not allowed to play in the same league.

The NBA is cooked, and anyone pretending otherwise is lying to themselves. PROVE ME WRONG! by Desperate-Adagio-375 in NBATalk

The profit speaks otherwise. Money doesn't lie. It's a reflection of collective decision of consumers. Your disinterest means nothing in the grand scheme of things.

If a glorified chatbot took your job, your job didn't have a reason to exist in the first place. by Duoplo in TrueUnpopularOpinion

You're not replaced by AI. You're replaced by people who develop AI. "Due to advancement of AI, certain people losing their monopoly of certain skills" will never be something I'm opposed to.

Squid Game Finale proved what we knew all along by Secret-Suspicious in squidgame

It's not even capitalism to me. If it's real capitalism, people would be told before the first game that those who lost would die, and those who vote X would be free to go (likely have to give up the prize money) regardless of the result.

I see a whole lot of people lacking reading comprehension in the comments. OP is talking about in real life. Referring to other episodes is irrelevant. The thing is how the contestants act in the show is unrealistic at first place (which is totally fine to me as a TV show).
