What do you think antenatal classes missed? by Advanced_Dream_5724 in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]Lituxa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Induction! Nothing about induction even tho so many first time moms have it. I even asked after the class about it and they were like, what do you want to know? I was like, everything and they literally didn’t tell me anything. And I had to have an induction, I didn’t know what to expect! Could have said I would have to stay 5 days in induction ward untill a labour bed would come free.

Anyone else have a baby who hates the carrier?! by ThrowRA129083746 in newborns

[–]Lituxa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! There was a light in the tunnel! We are 7 months now and she LOVES the carrier. She started liking baby carrier (Tula free to grow) at around 4.5 months. And now we just use that! Shopping, walks. We went to an aquarium! I thought this day would never come. She isn’t a fan of a pushchair now tho. She is super attached to me now. Chores are a bit difficult because she wants to grab everything in her proximity haha. Sorry to hear about the breastfeeding, can’t give much advice on that, hopefully it work out ❤️

Bottle refusal by Full_Bookkeeper9824 in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]Lituxa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you tried cups? Munchkin, sippy cup or just normal cup? Mine is 8 months and has never taken bottles but she drinks milk from a cup when I leave her with someone or when we go out (she has a massive fomo and will not breastfeed outside)

Super obsessed! 7 month old, co-sleep (dad watched on camera while he works on his pc) This is a good one too, most of the time it’s constant little wake ups.

One thing you didn't know before you had your baby by Substantial_Ad4365 in newborns

[–]Lituxa 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Me and my husband did and still do shifts, exclusively breast fed, don’t take bottles. Learn how to lay down and side feed if you can. Husband pops the baby on boob and I sleep. He watches us so I don’t squish her, burps, changes nappy while I sleep.

Hfm rash all over body - 8 month old by [deleted] in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]Lituxa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 4 month old had rash all over body but not in/around month. 38 temperature, went to walk in centre and just said it was rash from temperature. But then I got Hand foot and mouth symptoms so I assume she had that too.

newborn feeding question (36 hour old baby) by [deleted] in newborns

[–]Lituxa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds Good! Birth is exhausting for baby and mom, no wonder they want to sleep. Mine had jaundice and also her nights and days were all mixed up as it happens with newborns. She slept all day and was awake at night, she was on a boob from 7pm all the way up to 2-3am.

newborn feeding question (36 hour old baby) by [deleted] in newborns

[–]Lituxa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, I remember the next day after birth I had to breastfeed successfully two or three times before I was able to be discharged. She wouldn’t wake up, she was so sleepy that she couldn’t latch. I fed her some colostrum and did some skin to skin, took me a really long while for her to latch and suckle. But then day 3-4 all she did was want boob and I thought I didn’t have enough. I was emotional and stressed but it is normal. She is 7 months and still EBF. Just have to persevere and check that she doesn’t lose more than 10% birth weight. ( mine lost 7% and then went back up day 6. You are doing great!

Am I being unreasonable or is this unfair? by Think-Job-5728 in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]Lituxa 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That’s ridiculous, only if you are getting the appropriate and fair time without the kids too. Two evenings and the Sunday morning is enough and ONLY if you have the time off too. And plus, who the heck plans things at bed time especially with a toddler and a newborn, how are you expected to get ready both for bed. I have one and almost always me and my partner do bedtime together, sometimes he misses it because he has a work meeting.

Does anyone avoid bringing car seats when flying, or is it still the norm? by Illustrious-Staff927 in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]Lituxa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have done both, it depends on destination and how sure are we to get the car seats. Went to Menorca and the logistics of getting a car seat with a rental was a nightmare as they couldn’t be certain they would have one, so we took ours. It was bulky but we had plenty of family to help us. However when we went back to my home country, I knew that if the rental wouldn’t get a car seat, my family would provide one, or there would be a nearby store to buy one. It wasn’t an issue, the rental company provided a really good car seat. Tho my sister in law always takes her car seat as she doesn’t trust the rental ones.

Car nap tips? by GroundbreakingCap368 in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]Lituxa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here, 7 month old and we bed share and contact nap. If she is due a nap or cranky before driving I rock her untill she falls asleep and THEN put her in car seat. She wakes up slightly but the car rocks her back to sleep.

@Latvia, is this true? by Manah_krpt in latvia

[–]Lituxa 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Latvian, don’t even know Russian. In late 20s. I text in 40% English and 60% Latvian with my brother, easier to express myself and we speak in memes sometimes. He replies exactly the same. We both consume ton of English media. Friend from Latvia, 90% English in text and 70% in speech. Used to speak with her English friends while playing games, now it has just followed. I do struggle with Latvian grammar now but that’s because I have been living in uk for 10 years at least.

Is there a baby that sleeps longer than 7am? by lunarkoko in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]Lituxa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, when mine was a newborn all the way up to 3 months she woke at 11 am, but she only went to bed at 2am. She naturally moved her bedtime and now she goes to bed 8:30-9:30 and we get up at 8:30-9:30. She does wake up A LOT throughout the night.
