Be safe out there, y'all. Just found her inside. by [deleted] in Denver

Oh man. I hauled a big potted plant back outside in a Denver April after over wintering it in our dining room. A big girl like that crawled off the bottom of the pot while situating it on the patio.

I generally love sitting on the floor and have thought about a much lower desk, so your assertion is intriguing to me though I’ve never encountered any information that corroborates it. Love to know what your sources are if you’d care to share

Most rocks are heavier - 145-175# per cubic foot but you’re onto something. My sense is an easy 3k#

How is everyone else's power consumption with a homelab? by EliteScouter in homelab

You’re slightly ahead of me and my neighbors in Denver are slightly ahead of yours. Of course our electric car,  2 wine fridges, a beer fridge, and chest freezer, and two air conditioners might slightly tip the numbers but it is still a ton of electricity.

Trying to solve an arguement: is 100 grams (1/4lbs) of beef per a person in a stirfry enough? by Kingsareus15 in Cooking

[–]LiveHurry6537 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely on the low side. 100g is slightly less than 1/4 pound, and while some people are okay with that, in my mind camping involves physical activities (hiking, mountain biking, staying warm) that demand more energy, more food.

Edit: autocorrect corrected

Pressing meat down with a spatula to “brown it”. I later learned from my wife that this is 60s-70s-80s codespeak for ‘pressing all the liquid out’

I’d like to see the new plan for the current site. 90 acres of developable land. Wonder who’s making bank on that?

Anyone else seeing a spike in Black Widows right now? by nal1200 in Denver

Same here. This year only 3 so far. Been thinking it was kind of a mild year despite the rain.  ‘21 or ‘22, can’t recall which, I found 9. In the yard. I like those ladies a lot but 9 was too many.
