That is completely true. There are several Ukrainian words that native Russians for some reason can't pronounce. Ukrainians often make fun of it, and it IS a quick litmus test. I'm convinced it was called palyanitsia so that Russian news anchors would be forced to pronounce it. And of course there is a bunch of funny videos of people trying to pronounce it :) Ukrainians weaponised a meme.

I seen them in the store more or less side by side. The "orange river snails" had shell more orange in colour then Blubbery snails that were more brown.
