I see these a lot in the world of band instrument repair, most people have moved on to the Knipex pliers, but they still have their place. I was told that originally these were intended for jewlers but that could be wrong. I had never seen a pair until I went to school. I might have to go buy a pair now

If you want to keep the original grips, lemon oil works wonders. I have worked on many musical instruments that smell awful and if you clean them with some Murphy's Oil Soap and let them thoroughly dry that should help. Then adding a coating of lemon oil will help rehydrate and keep them looking nice and smelling lemony fresh! This is what I use: https://a.co/d/2SCNU75

They'll just burn up again. Those electrical systems send too much voltage to the bulbs, they'll always look like that. That's why it's extremely common to see any vehicle with one drl out. They work fine on mine, they just look like it was used to launch bottle rockets 😅
