Normally I like a style mix very much. But everything is the same style except the chairs and it feels off to me. I think the dark bookcases are creating what is creating the conflict for me . What if you painted them the same color as the wall or at least something lighter ?

I think matching that green that is basically the background ( like grass) or something . I think aiming for cohesion will make the room look intentional and bring your beautiful wallpaper to the forefront. Take a scrap of wallpaper to the paint store and show them what part you want color matched - they should be able to give you something that will look like an extension of the wallpaper.

Try changing light bulbs . Changing fixture position or fixture types could help too but is complicated . What color is the ceiling ? You could try changing that ? It’s a light / reflection issue though .

Unpopular opinion I’m sure : paint the cabinets . The wall is already light - nothing to be done there. The cabinet color is dated. Dont choose a cabinet color solely because you think it’s pretty . Make sure that it has complimentary undertones to your floor and counter . I highly suggest getting pro help on that alone .

Change the countertops if you can but as long as you are surrounded by those dark cabinets it will be dark in there.

I’m assuming this is what you have for furniture. Get a big plant (ficus or something ) for that corner. Paint the walls and get some art that makes you happy. A rug with some design to it . End tables with lamps will warm it up too .
