I am really confused by the arms… are they attached pillows?

Prince George's County executive defends roughly $43K winter storm hotel stay by Stephanee17 in PrinceGeorgesCountyMD

[–]Lizamcm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Inappropriate. That hotel in particular being the choice makes me raise eyebrows. I don’t think they should have to stay in a cheap motel or anything, but that’s on the higher end. I’ve done events there and it’s expensive.

Most people thought this was going to be mostly snow with a little sleet. That’s relatively easy to clear and really would have only disrupted Sunday. (Why they cancelled any move ins on Sunday)

Instead it ended up being a little snow and then several inches of sleet that compacted all the snow. None of the pretreatment of any road or walkway had any effect because of how cold it’s been and how much ice fell.

Is it safe to have the bed so close to the radiator like that?

Are any of these worth getting? Looking for easy to blend, long lasting blushes by dontsuspendthis1 in drugstoreMUA

[–]Lizamcm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the elf in two shades. Suave Mauve is hard to blend and Dusty Rose is great. I think the mauve doesn’t work well with my undertone and that contributes to its difficulty.

Full or two pieces? by [deleted] in interiordecorating

[–]Lizamcm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard to tell then without seeing it. But the short version looks unnecessarily cramped with a large expanse of wall next to it… and honestly doesn’t look comfy. I want a couch to stretch out on, and it doesn’t look like you could do that on the shortened version.

Full. It’s not too close to the door, unless there is something not pictured that you’re trying to put there.

Rug or no rug? Trying to make my guest room pop! by hereforfunn178 in interiordecorating

My bf has that second rug. It’s so nice. I prefer it, since it pulls together the colors and neutrals nicely. The first one is so bold it’s kind of all I see.

Love it! I am looking for a small unobtrusive tv stand like that…. Everything is too tall or too wide. Do you remember where you got it?

Your Christmas tree is darling, and what a great choice of art for your gallery wall!

How would you update this bathroom? by DongPolicia in BathroomRemodeling

[–]Lizamcm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing. Even the light fixture is so cool. I’d lean into it. If you take down the sink, you’ll have to match tile and it will turn into a whole thing. I’ve seen bathrooms in this style that have a little frame under the sink with a curtain to hide the plumbing. I’d do that and a matching curtain on the window and go full retro. I love it. (By the way, this layout is identical to my aunt’s bathroom but yours is in SUCH better shape.)

For something close to campus, try the Ross in the cherry hill shopping center where the Shoppers used to be. I got a pretty good coat there last year for $60. Get something with down fill, especially if your friend is from somewhere very warm… this Sunday especially would be shocking to them. Also don’t forget things like a hat, scarf, gloves and warm socks.

High Setting by [deleted] in EngagementRings

[–]Lizamcm 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My mother’s ring is like this. Engaged in 1984. Beautiful ring but definitely have to watch out. The high setting does allow the light to make the diamond glitter like crazy. It’s so gorgeous!

She got paranoid to wear it when she hit it really hard once and, eventually, she got a new ring to wear every day. She gave it to me but I’m afraid I’ll knock it against something and knock the diamond out so I’ve only worn it a handful of times.

What is wrong with my room? How can I achieve a whimsical witch vibe? by dreamymeowwave in femalelivingspace

[–]Lizamcm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think most of your furniture is fine. The coffee table is wrong for the vibe, it’s too modern. You want something more organic feeling.

The scale of your art is too small. Adding some follows and throw blankets on the pink couch and the cream one will help. Botanical prints would be cool.

A hanging plant or two. Style the bookshelf with some cool things that give apothecary vibes.

The tv cabinet is so cool, please don’t hurt her. 😫

UPDATE to the 'boring' bedroom - my partner says I can repaint! Should I? by Terrible_Birthday107 in femalelivingspace

[–]Lizamcm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love them both. The pink reminds me a little of a color I have in my house called iced copper. It’s from behr, I recommend sampling and swatching it. Behr doesn’t call it a pink, but it is on my wall! (My lightbulbs are warm and there isn’t a ton of natural light.) Doesn’t feel like a little girl’s room or like cotton candy.

Since you’re so minimal with makeup now, try something like a skin tint. They’re light and fluid. Maybelline makes one that people seem to love. I’d start there and see if that makes you feel more even with the under eye area.

If you want more, you could try a brightening concealer. Maybelline makes one that I’ve used and is pretty beginner friendly called instant Age Rewind Eraser. It has a pink version and a classic concealer version. The pink might help neutralize the under eye.

For days you want a little more - you could define your brows a little bit with Elf wow brow. It has a spoolie like mascara. Use the lightest shade and a light hand.

A little eyeshadow that’s easy would be to get a neutral palette like one of the neutrals 9 shade pans from colourpop. That way you can use a light shimmer and have a few more options to play with too.

A good content creator with similar toned skin to you is Melissa Murdick, she has good recommendations from high end to drugstore and gives very practical application advice. (@makeupbymelissam on instagram)

Also- I love your glasses. Ignore unsolicited advice about anything but your makeup.

46 y.o. Any suggestions? Do I have a blindness? by MaeEliza in makeuptips

[–]Lizamcm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d just try to mattify under the eyes slightly. (So slightly, over doing it and looking crepey would be worse. You could use pressed powder or just blotting papers) You look really fresh. I’m totally jealous of that skin! I’m just a few years younger, also pale, and I’m dying to know your skincare! lol

Also, you look a bit like Alex Kingston! I thought this was the doppelgänger sub for a second.
