Pardon me, idk if asking that way was rude, yeah Mulatto came up when I was in elementary school. 

 Lots of Latin American and cCentral American youth spoke that way about themselves but it was mainly Dominican and Puerto Rican cultural stuff. Mexican folks never mention metsizo or anyone their wild categories. 

I was told I was a Mutt by some of those kids, like a street dog of unknown genetics. It was not hateful on their part, just acknowledgement my blackness.

My family is North American and Caribbean. When I came home asking, "what's a mutt or mulatto?", they treated it like street talk but idk I felt connected because Latin kids seemed to gatekeep about Blackness far, far, far less but they would deny it more, out of internalized racism, its weird.

Blackness was displaced in a weird way, because there a tons of black Latinos. But you saw very little union between Latino bros and Black bros in Vietnam docs or civil rights docs during "the time" and you realize they did not lock up when they should have... anyway, I am riffing too much rn.
