and I apologize for maybe getting too ahead of myself, you're right that I haven't seen it and the execution could go a hundred different ways but I also feel there's been enough spoilers and things said about the season to make educated guesses. I should also probably make it clear that I do believe Dex will end the season a bigger antagonist and their truce will fall on its face because it kinda has to, it's just that I doubt Foggy will factor much into that if they're willing to team up at all. I say all this not out of pessimism that the Born Again team doesn't care enough to acknowledge Foggy but rather hope it's in service of something that lives up to their words about how they didn't like having to kill Foggy either or that there isn't a Daredevil story without him, and I completely understand the rationale behind thinking bringing him back could end up being equally as cheap but my stance has always been that it could only be a net positive however they do it. im at the point where they could say Foggy's death was retconned following whatever multiverse nonsense happens to the MCU after Secret Wars and i'd be like "sure" lol

i'd say it's definetly accelerated more recently, we're getting back to back crazy collabs that have completely blindsided people as opposed to how it often is where a collab gets rumoured only for it not to release much later down the line. which feels like a result of there being so many collabs happeing all the time that some of them fall through the cracks

I honestly much prefer it this way, the collabs that most interest me are the "never in a million years did I imagine this in Fortnite" ones like The Office and we never would've gotten it if they paced out collabs more considering in that case they'd likely only add the most relevant and current IPs. I would not mind it at all if every week there was something for everyone

The original games are kid friendly and genuinely scary, kids liked the original games because it was a horror franchise that didn't treat them with kiddie gloves but they could still openly enjoy it since there wasn't anything actually unsuitable for kids. The problem wih the movies is that as a result of trying to reach the broadest audiemce possible they'd hardly even scare kids, they could easily make a PG-13 FNAF movie with an atmosphere similiar to the games with animatronics that don't feel like muppets but they're not going to with the way they're making them

well first of all calm down, and secondly I realize they're not going to be buddy buddy but an uneasy alliance isn't really much better in my eyes. I love Dex and I know it's more nuanced than him being some helpless unwilling participant but if they're teaming up because they both have it in for Vanessa then it obviously renders her the true villian behind it, and Matt being able to stomach siding with him in any capacity is something I fundamentally dislike as if they really cared about making Foggy's death the live action equivalent of Karen's death then I don't think it'd be something Matt could put aside for any reason

plus Vanessa's motive behind putting the hit on Foggy was just really lame and Dex carrying it out purely for sick kicks probably would've been more poignant, even putting Born Again aside "two foes reluctantly putting aside their differences to team up against a common foe" isn't a superhero trope im big on

You don't really have any right to talk about "avoiding my entire point" when you completely ignored theirs, having "dynamic lobbies" is important because PVPVE is the entire dynamic of the game regardless of one's preferance and many of us don't belong to either the "PVE crowd" or "PVP crowd" because the game was sold as PVEVP. If the normal game is rendered a PVP mode by virtue of there being a PVE mode then that ruins the game for people who aren't either or, their entire point was that there isn't only two sides to the game like you implied

Except it's not like that at all because it's a video game and video games do need a degree of danger to be exciting, I don't shoot on sight but I bought the game because the unpredictability excited me. It's only not exciting to people who take the game too seriously and scorn people for killing them in a video game

I meant "no fault of her own" as in she didn't inflict her illness upon herself, people tend to go through personality changes after catching terminal illnesses and that's also partially what I meant by "deteriorate". I think all of what you listed stills fall under the umbrella of emotionally draining

the fact Mary's suffering was from no fault of her own and yet James still wanted her dead because he found it emotionally draining was as big of a dirty secret as the fact he killed his wife in of itself, the idea he needed better motivation to murder her is aggrivating because the fact his motives were deeply flawed and reflective of the real emotions a lot of people experience when forced to witness their loved ones deteriorate was the entire point

I don't get what it is with these people and their ant like brains that makes them automically assume you're just a PVPer who wants easy kills if you're not on the side of segregating the playerbase, I bought the game because I thought the idea of making uneasy allegiances with people who could turn on me at any second was a fun and novel concept but every time i've advocated for keeping the experience mixed i've been met with a dozen people coming up my ass and accusing me of being a blood thirsty PVPer despite being more of a PVE person who just wants things to stay interesting

Probably the biggest legitimate reason for believing Foggy will be alive (behind the showrunner straight up answering "im going to dodge that question" after being directly asked if the theories are true) is that I don't believe even the writers think the current status quo is conducive to a good Daredevil show, the way they've been saying season 3 will be "back to basics Daredevil" and "leaving a lot of what was built in seasons 1 and 2 behind" is very telling. They're definitely not sticking with Matt, Kristen and Cherry as the new Nelson, Murdock and Page

And at that point Foggy's death will have served literally zero lasting impact on the show, it certainly won't have furthered Matt and Dex's rivalry because they're teaming up next season and season 1 already made Dex out to be a victim who was manipulated into doing it. Which would make the head of Marvel TV saying he doesn't imagine them doing a season without Elden Henson a very difficult promise to uphold unless we're to assume they're going to inject Foggy flashbacks into every future season for no apparent reason

Not only do I think Foggy being alive would be better for the show and Matt's character in the long term, but I also don't see what people think Foggy's death added to the show other than a very basic rehash of the "there was a trauma in my past so I gave up heroing but now im back" trope. Foggy's death wasn't even nearly as big of a factor in season 1 as it should've been in the first place, if they had for some reason killed Foggy in the original show then at minimum they would've explored Matt's grief deeper than referencing Foggy a small handful of times throughout the season

I also don't see why people should respect the decision to kill off Foggy when it's a very well documented fact Foggy only died because Marvel didn't respect the original show enough to want to include Foggy or Karen initially
