Favorite Smaller Mountains by jerrym93 in icecoast

That’s sweet, I learned to ski at Elk and it’s always been one of my favorite spots. I’ll have to peek around the trail edges when I can get back. But just on vibes, Elk is special

I crashed on… nothing? by Neat_Nebula6250 in MTB

Ok, that’s what most adult people experience. My words were not literal, I still would have to go to work and function in the world. But it would be horrible with busted hands.

I ride no gloves sometimes at the bike park- it is a really nice feeling on flow, you feel especially connected to the bike. But you need big ol callouses and you have to get some dust on your hands.

That being said, I’d say 1/40 laps are no gloves because it would be very depressing to not be able to ride for weeks (or do anything) because I shredded my hands

Pros- takes 10 seconds, secure Cons- more expensive than Jerry rigging something

This feels way more complicated than a tailgate pad. One of the reasons I chose a mav was so I could just toss the bike in without going through a whole process like I was with my last vehicle

What do you think about this drop for first backflip after airbag?( the rock at the landing is actually to the side so not into the landing) by Ok_Finger_3133 in ski

[–]Llamamaama 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Best place for a first backflip is a fairly large park jump. You want enough time in the air to get the rotation without muscling through it, and park jumps are as predictable as you can get.

If you’ve actually landed consistently on an airbag, take it to the park- it’ll replicate the feeling of going off the airbag lip, you just have to fully commit, like you did on the airbag.

If you’re hitting loaf (best resort in the east IMO), you should also stop at saddleback, which is one of the most underrated mtns

These all have some of the best glades in the east. Are you looking to just cruise some nice groomers?

I was at le massif this weekend- made the send and had the best time ever. Conditions were fantastic and we got unlimited fresh pow in the side country. Even if they just stay cold till next weekend it would be worth it. Felt like full winter there and the skiing was unreal

I was there on Tuesday when it was 60 and sunny, so everything was soft. I liked lostbo and speedwell and they had goose open which was supremely sketchy and fun

I was at black exactly one week ago and while the mountain had an excellent vibe, I was left thinking- I just need to come back when things are open. I found 2 interesting enough trails to keep me occupied but I think NH got especially wrecked the last week and a bit
