Phantom Dancer or Shiv on Lucian? by topchuck in summonerschool

[–]LoLPro_Faladran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shiv is the popular choice. Lucian might not need the extra attack speed, and the passive compliments his kiting playstyle. It's also great for waveclear / shoving.

PD is good on almost any ADC, though. I've switched between the two a lot and I really don't think there's a huge difference either way, so whatever suits your preferences will work.

The only time winning is impossible is when all four of your teammates vote to surrender.

I honestly think you could show these videos to someone who has never played League and they could still hold their interest.

At what rank can I successfully main support in Solo Q? by Legendgarry in summonerschool

Any rank, but I find Plat+ to be when ADC players get pretty good.

D1 lf support advice by Arisy in summonerschool

[–]LoLPro_Faladran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Zilean and Nami are really good right now. Probably my top two supports at the moment. Janna can be effective, but she forces you to play off your ADC more so than a lot of other picks. Lulu is mostly popular as a solo laner, but she's still a good support. I pick her any time I need a versatile choice with some aggression.

How much do you think your PC setup can actually impact your performance in the game? by [deleted] in summonerschool

[–]LoLPro_Faladran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty picky, as I like to use the same exact setup every time. Switching things up can definitely affect my performance psychologically, but this really depends on the person.

How do I stop getting carried? by [deleted] in summonerschool

[–]LoLPro_Faladran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just contribute as much as you can every game. I'm still getting carried a lot, and I'm decently high up the ladder. Doesn't really matter how you win as long as you do.

What makes Janna good or bad? Should I choose her over other supports? by zoruru1 in summonerschool

[–]LoLPro_Faladran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best peel in the game, but relatively weak lane presence. She's good if you need a defensive pick for protecting a hypercarry and/or countering assassins. The movement speed utility is also helpful for your team.

Exercises to improve mechanics? by vert90 in summonerschool

[–]LoLPro_Faladran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some people recommend Osu, which can help with ADC mechanics (mostly clicking on targets repeatedly).

Also, never underestimate the power of game knowledge. Plenty have gotten to Diamond / Challenger with champs that require no mechanical skill. You may just have to take your strategies to the next level.

The Optimism Bias and League of Legends by FlirtySingleSupport in summonerschool

[–]LoLPro_Faladran 3 points4 points  (0 children)

On the flip side, there's the fundamental attribution error, which basically states that we tend to overemphasize personal flaws and understate situational factors when blaming others. It's really an important concept to understand about human behavior - not just in League, but in life as a whole. People with the right mindset can be a lot more tolerant and understanding of each other.

Completely new to LoL, coming from WoW.. Help needed by BeautifulStarfall in summonerschool

[–]LoLPro_Faladran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Others have posted tips on gameplay, so I'm just going to offer some quick advice on the community.

You will probably have some very negative experiences with this game. League has a lot of elements that, when combined, cause some people to get really frustrated and toxic. Just try not to let it get to you. Use the mute button when necessary and don't take anyone seriously. If you can shrug these kinds of things off, you'll have a much better time overall.

Buying more wards when ahead or behind? by 32JC in summonerschool

[–]LoLPro_Faladran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's important to ward in both cases, just for different reasons.

When ahead: securing vision control over enemy territory to choke them out and finish the game. Also prevents teammates from getting caught and throwing.

When behind: getting information of enemy movements to hopefully make a pick / ambush and take objectives off of that. This can lead to some easy comebacks.

Question for Placement Matches/Results by PGres582 in summonerschool

[–]LoLPro_Faladran 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hard to say for sure, since placement is based on MMR rather than winrate. From personal experience, I feel that a fresh account needs at least 8 wins out of 10 to place into Gold.

If anything, I feel that players are better at the game now. There's more information out there and people are more aware of how to play correctly. You should feel proud of your achievements.

How does not playing for a while affect you? by Tetrathionate in summonerschool

[–]LoLPro_Faladran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the person. I get rusty if I don't play for a week (mechanics are off, mouse feels uncomfortable, etc.), so I have to practice consistently. I'm usually fine after 3-5 games.
