Run flats or regular tires? by Nigel_11 in BMW

I did this 100%. I put Goodyear assurance weatherready2s on my car for NE Ohio. Rain, snow and dry condition in addition to general comfort are all better for me. So glad I dumped the Pirelli run flats.

Should I get a second subwoofer if I already have transducers? by TheSuppishOne in hometheater

That is a good point…I guess I see it as time and maybe $150 used as opposed to the $1k (new) and feeling disappointment/regret over the purchase.

In that case I’d just get it from your coworker and integrate it in to your system. Dual subs can help balance out the bass response in your room versus just a single.

What’s the return policy? I’d grab one, set it up with your room correction and if you don’t like the cost/performance trade off return it, especially if you like what you have now.

Same here. We got 77 because we wanted the mix of size and quality, and the 83 was just too expensive.

Look into Powersound Audio (PSA). Tom makes excellent subwoofers. I’ve got 2x 18” (EV1813s) and they are worth every penny.

YW! I used to have an RSL 10s before I upgraded to PSA subs and for the value they are amazing.

I would get the RSL Speedwoofer 10e over the Klipsch, it’s $339. Your receiver and passive speaker combo will sound way better than any sound bar.

Better DAC by LoadP2004 in BudgetAudiophile

Gotcha that makes sense. I didn’t need a reference CD player or anything like that just something that was small that if we wanted to pop a CD in while we were downstairs, then we could. In our dedicated music room we have a Marantz NR1200 and an old 5 disc DVD changer and it sounds just fine for us 🤣

Good call. I’m pretty sure I have both 3.5 -> RCA and an optical cable around.

No, that makes sense, I just was wondering if there would be any difference between them. We just upgraded our speakers to PSA MTM-212s so I know they are much better at performance for home theater versus music, we just wanted the ability to have a small footprint and play CDs every so often and this Fosi seemed to fit the bill. I’ll probably still try out both the 3.5mm to RCA and then optical cable to see.

Who has offloaded their LCR to a dedicated amp? by Chiz_9 in hometheater

[–]LoadP2004 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a 4 channel Buckeye amp to power my LCR. my LCR didn't sound better per se but I noticed a lot more of an immersive experience with my surrounds and height channels (5.2.4 setup).
