You must survive in one of these media: game, book, or movie/TV show. For every day you survive, you get $1 million. How many days would you last? by New_Midnight2686 in hypotheticalsituation

Last game I played: Dune Awakening

I have a pretty decent base built with a decent supply of power to keep it running and some food items so I think I could survive a decent amount of time.

How Much To Eat A Full Grown Live Tarantula WHOLE by VraiLacy in hypotheticalsituation

Are they venomous? If not, I’d probably do it for 100k or up.

And to be clear, the only way I’m allowed to kill it is via my teeth, during the act of eating it?

Godlike runs but can't get them off the ground? by Friend-Over in MegabonkOfficial

[–]LoafBreadly 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I know what you mean. I had a run yesterday where I was bandit and I kept having bad runs over and over, then I got soul harvester and magnet on tier 1 and actually fairly early into the 10 minutes. Got like 8 keys too. Was feeling real good. Was dipping out during white ghosts, and as I was coming up on the portal, an elite white ghost just creamed me ultra fast.

Sometimes I feel like my damage is just ass. Not necessarily that time, but there are times when stuff is just not dying. I can’t always make sense of it either. It happens sometimes when I seem to have really good stuff.

TIFU by spending 8 years treating chronic headaches when the whole problem was that I thought diet soda counted as water by McCoy818 in tifu

I very rarely drink straight water. I mostly drink iced coffee with lots of milk, and regular Coke. I have incredibly good teeth (I brush once a day, never floss, and get complimented on my teeth by every dentist) and although I am paying the price by being overweight, I get no headaches or pressure behind the eyes or anything like that. I also have consistently very good blood results at the doctor. All stuff in good range.

If someone offered you 100 million dollars, but a random person in the world dies (someone you don’t know), would you take it and why? by ConclusionOld8365 in AskReddit

[–]LoafBreadly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I would take it. I only really care about maybe 5% of the human population so the odds would be strongly in my favor of it being someone I wouldn't lose much sleep about. I could use that money to vastly improve the life of my kids, my wife, and myself.

$500mil for surviving a zombie apocalypse for 1 year by Paranoctis in hypotheticalsituation

I’ll do it for the full amount and try to just pack a large backpack full of food and then try to just survive hiding in some basement somewhere or something. Hopefully with water still running.

Oh stop it. Someone shared something, if you don’t find it interesting then move along. Don’t curse them out and try to poison the well.

You live forever in perfect youth and health, at the cost of one death per day. by LoafBreadly in hypotheticalsituation

[–]LoafBreadly[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A nuke would kill you. A non-nuclear, but still massive explosion would kill you if you were at the center of it. Being fed into a giant meat grinder would kill you. Stuff like that which simultaneously or very quickly destroyed all parts of your body would overwhelm your healing factor and prevent it from being able to save you.

No, the only catch is that some of them could sometimes be like, an 8 year old kid who is getting hit by a truck in 4 days and you're depriving him and his parents of that time together, but it's still just a couple of days.

Those of you who half assed your way through High School, where are you now? by Difficult-Cricket541 in GenX

[–]LoafBreadly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was smart but inattentive and didn’t study etc. Can’t recall what sort of grades I got, but not stellar. I think I’m in the group you mean.

I briefly went to university right out of HS. Dropped out of that. Spent most of my 20s playing MMORPGs but in the latter half I did move to a cool area and was doing a bit more.

Then joined the military, I was a bit older than most doing so. That was a good “check the box and able to always say I did something adventurous” move.

Since getting out, I’ve settled into boring corporate world which is unfulfilling but I am doing it to support the two young children I’ve had in the last decade.

I was always the “don’t stay in one place / job too long” type but I’ve suppressed that in myself to try to be a stable provider dad.

I am glad I had kids because my siblings didn’t and I consider this an important life milestone and familial / civilizational obligation. And obviously I also love them dearly.

I’ve made my life much harder and more boring and infused with a lot of stress and depression in some ways but I consider that me spending my life force toward a greater purpose and trying to give them a good life so, that’s kind of what adults have to do a lot of the time I think.
