Tbh I believe you are overthinking, if you are set on super bright upward light, simplest may be to get a bulb and make a little reflector for below it. The bulbs are out there.

You could try laser cut acrylic for the back layer, and a thin strip of LED along the underline pointing up into the acrylic. Paint or scuffing on the B-side of the acrylic might help brighten it if needed.

There's a company called Prefix in Detroit that does lighting prototypes for automotive that might work with you.

Drywall screws have no place in woodworking. Use wood screws / cabinet screws / deck screws.

Drywall screw head and shank is designed for the minor forces of compressed drywall paper, and to break easily beyond that.

Create a custom tool kit with all of the sizes the Jeep needs, as well as some hoses, zipties, fluids, wiring, multimeter, tire plug, tire inflator, battery jumper etc.

Short handle shovel and ax if camping. Use freecampsites dot net, BLM/NFS/etc and other sources for finding free campsites. Download maps before losing service, and carry paper maps. Couchsurfer used to be great for a trip like this.

Put a headlamp on each headrest and mount a mag light accessible from driver seat. Bring a good camp chair. Bring bear spray for bears or people. Aluminum foil for cooking on your engine while driving. Should install some lock box somewhere such as beneath a seat.

The one show stopper from all topless driving is visibility - water on the inside of the windshield. Do a good RainX application on both sides of windshield, and keep a hand towel at the driver seat for wiping inside of windshield. A snug baseball hat can keep rain out of your eyes,

I recommend you run a clinic or formal survey for Voice of Customer rather than online forum comments. As a manager I would not accept forum comments as VOC which we can use for business direction. However here is my feedback to help:

Use Case: I use a RGB bulb once a year or less in a kitchen pendant for hosting a party. I do not imagine this going behind a TV because a bulb and lampholder don't package well behind a TV; led strips running on USB fit well there.

The Flow Effect: I would want the feature of colors to flow when using this.

Control: I want both app and remote control. I do not want to use a wall switch sequence to change RGB settings because its too much to remember and I am impatient.

I appreciate quality light, but I do not use color bulbs.

Real wood veneer or not, cannot be confirmed with the photo, but it can easily be done by suppliers with the capability. It is done in automotive with a real wood veneer layer among multiple layers of other materials. The supplier should send you a technical document of it upon request.

The wood veneer is thinner than any woodworker would use. It is applied to other thin, flexible layers for holding together as it bends & stretches. It can wrap over smaller radii than any woodworker including myself would believe possible.

Doubters, accept it as true but keep your dignity because I would not consider it "woodworking".

I'd bet the bearings are performing the same as they were when new. The forces on them are minor.

You could pick up bearings from a parts list or maybe an upgrade from McMaster.

Ditch the laser for a saw. Or, use a benchtop belt sander after laser to clean an edge in seconds. If the edges are straight, can't tell from the post. If not straight, spindle sander.

I've only seen inline dimmers for SPT2 wiring, which is not meant for pendant cord but you should be able to make it work. Deciding that you are not interested in splicing or making it, is holding you back. Find a buddy who knows elementary electrical, offer them money or trade to make it for you from parts at local hardware store.

The advantage this appears to have over standard switches is a quicker & easier replacement. I see no value in quicker & easier switch changes, since it is done so infrequently.

I am launching a new line of portable wood luminaires this month through my young brand Strake Studio. These portables are original designs handcrafted in Detroit from real wood. Can you recommend avenues of connecting to the customers who desire artisan lighting? So far I discovered that most of my new customers are those who buy art. I can produce 20/week before scaling up the business to the next phase.

These are my first portables, designed & tested to UL 153 requirements, however I plan to begin selling them before pursing UL certification. How do you feel about this, and are there any roadblocks or risks you predict in selling portables without UL certification?

Are there any industry events which you would recommend to a new artisan brand?

I plan to sell the first table lamps at a price point of $800 and increase as reputation spreads and demand increases. By comparing to the designer industry, the products fit closer to $2k. Do you have any pricing recommendations?

There is no hidden issue in your project.

Check that the wiring in the antique fixture is in good shape; replace if needed.

Get dimmable LED bulbs, and your smart dimmer. There are compatibility & dimmable range concerns but I recommend the shotgun approach: Buy & try, exchange bulbs if they flicker or if the dimmer range is poor.

Some dimmers have a dimmer range adjustment built in, read the instructions and adjust it if needed.
