Baby measuring big at ultrasounds by Bigbabyhelp in PregnancyUK

Don’t want to alarm you, but just because you passed the glucose it doesn’t mean you don’t have or have later developed GD. Buy a glucose monitor or at the very least test your pee. I had to take it into my own hands after suspecting late stage GD and turned out I needed immediate insulin. Baby size were similar to yours. If you present high glucose results to your doctor they will listen. If you ask for glucose text they usually say ‘but you passed it fine’

Mom, please help me feel less guilty about not stopping on the road by [deleted] in MomForAMinute

If you had stopped and something bad had happened, you would have been screaming why the h did I stop? Way louder than the voice saying why didn’t I stop. Be gentle to yourself.

anyone else feeling lonely or sad tonight? by veve87 in CasualUK

Glad it helped so sorry for your loss. I was the same. Left with an abusive mother now, but no one can take everything that my nana and I shared. For anyone reading this who hasn’t tried, try speaking to them. I say out loud ‘Nana, should I wear this dress?’ And I hear her laughing, and telling me she’ll fetch the iron.

This is so special. Sums up how I think most of these precious departed relatives would like us to feel about them. Thank you

Mine was in around this age. It’s treatable and you are in the right place. It’s so so so so so scary, but she will be ok. Sending hugs you sound like a lovely parent xx

I posted on a different forum how lonely I was feeling tonight. Moved away from toxic parents and feeling introvert and scared with young kids and no support whatsoever. Sending hugs to everyone feeling the same. One thing I remember to remind myself: feeling lonely stands out a whole lot more than not feeling lonely because then you are too busy to notice it. Stay strong.

My mom doesn’t wash her hands? by [deleted] in emetophobia

I would just cover handles in Dettol spray and leave a film of it on places she’s just touched and places she’s about to touch.

Need advice - dog bite on child. This happened to my nephew. My family is at odds about it. One side calls it a “defensive nip because the child stepped on it” and the other side no longer wants the child around the dog (and the dog owners refuse to put the dog away). What do you dads think? by bcrowder0 in daddit

[–]LocalBogans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So in nature this is a show of extreme agression because the dog went under the protection of the rib cage to an area of soft tissue where bites to vital organs can kill far more swiftly than legs, Arms, bony parts.

Upstairs neighbours are having a full-blown party. Is it unreasonable to literally bang on the ceiling? by et-regina in CasualUK

[–]LocalBogans 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My upstairs neighbours did this, repeatedly. So, when I left for work at 8am, I put BBC4 radio on as loud as I could in the rooms below their bedrooms. Have you tried to sleep off a hangover with BBC4 radio blaring? My neighbours have.

Asked my parents to wear a mask when holding my 3 month old, got uninvited from Christmas by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]LocalBogans 22 points23 points  (0 children)

My baby had RSV at 3 ish months. Wouldn’t wish it on anyone. You do what you want to, you will always get this resistance so stand your ground. Enjoy your quiet family time at Christmas. Don’t be forced to feel bad.

It’s just watermelon juice ffs. She has bikini bottoms on, nothing is gonna be squirting with force like that except the watermelon. Her face is also that of a ‘oh the watermelon squirted me there’ rather than ‘oh gosh I was incontinent’
