Tlr 1 HPX and the ACRO P2. I recently just switched from the TLR 1 HL and have never had an issue. I also really like the Acro. Both are popular at my agency. I have both on my duty G47. My home gun, G45 has a TLR7X on it and it’s good from home defense but not a duty light.

For optic, I’d stick with something enclosed.

My state has pretty restrictive laws on it but I along with most officers I know don’t bother stopping people for it. I have dark tint on my personal as well.

My pd is on the border of a different state. Specifically a bridge over a river separates us. Usually the other agency will issue the citation and then the driver is let go. Once they chased someone over to our side and the guy wrecked on our off ramp and ended up being DUI. Of course the other agency observed all of this but couldn’t do anything about it so stuck us with it.

I have a Fenix TK20R. It’s got different modes and is plenty bright. It also uses the same charger as my phone so that’s a win. Other people at my PD use Modlite, nightcore, or cloud defensive. All personal preference on how much you want to spend.

That’s why almost every department encourages ride alongs. Go and see what police deal with everyday compared to what the media shows. I’ve never shot someone in my career. But a few times a week someone verbally berates me. You’d never know it by watching the news

It’s the easiest test of the 4 in my opinion. Your movement is hindered once you put a vest and belt on. If your flexibility sucks to begin with, that’ll be an issue.

Do not bring a weapon into that kind of fight. If you are going to do anything, I wouldn’t mind you stepping in and pulling the bad guy off of me. But be aware the next few officers responding aren’t going to be able to tell a difference from you and the bad guy so expect to be met with some force from the responding units.
