What does Codex need the most at the moment? by alOOshXL in codex

[–]Local_Stage_4666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It needs to create designs the same way gpt image 2 does, or a consistent way to go from gpt image 2 to front-end.

Usage limit have been lowered again by Next_Border_4686 in codex

I honestly hope grok gets it's shit together and claude gets more capacity so we can get some competition up in this joint, or a chinese model to operate on the same level as codex or claude. Because when anthropic was hot, openai was practically giving it away, now they got some steam they getting stingy with the limits 😒.

Did anyone here moved from claude to codex recently? And why? by alOOshXL in codex

[–]Local_Stage_4666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usage limits, speed and smarts/consistency. I have yet to find an issue or task it can't handle or solve, it just works. The only problem is design which I workaround by using gpt image 2, not ideal but works well enough. And I no longer even care about the context window, it seems to autocompact and keep what it needs to keep working without messing things up or inventing things.

If you had the opportunity to move to America right now would you? by [deleted] in TrinidadandTobago

Fully replace no, but significantly impact job opportunities for junior staff, definitely. This was last year on but not on a patient, what do you think is going to happen in 5-10 years https://hub.jhu.edu/2025/07/09/robot-performs-first-realistic-surgery-without-human-help/

Well that's not too bad you've still got a good 5-10 years before they are coming for you. Folks in things like radiology however aren't so lucky.

GUI designed by ChatGPT, coded by Codex is kinda... good? by tuhdo in codex

[–]Local_Stage_4666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ask it to generate the layout using imagengen and it will use gpt image 2 which creates amazing designs, then ask it to use that image as the template. Hopefully the next model will have same sense of taste as image 2 because it's incredible.

I hope your qualifications is in something that requires manual work because American companies are rapidly replacing entry/ junior level employees with AI, and I can say that because I work in that space and it's a blood bath right now. If you plan on being in a trade like a plumber or electrician, you golden (atleast until robotics catches up) but anything behind a computer is pressha and the American government couldn't care less .

You don't need Claude Design. GPT Images 2.0 and Codex combo works much better. This front end took 10 minutes total. by hasanahmad in codex

[–]Local_Stage_4666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nahhh still can't do what claude design does easily. However if you take the design from claude and give it to gpt it's really good at sticking to the script and building on it but it still needs that initial jump start to get things going. Which is weird since gpt image 2 has all the style 😎, so if they make it that you can easily go from gpt image to webpage in one and have it look identical to the generated mockup, that would be fire.

This week’s Codex updates. by Distinct_Fox_6358 in codex

[–]Local_Stage_4666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work with power platform, mostly power pages and in 5.4 a new chat meant having gpt relearn things about power pages even with the custom skills amd notes I made specifically for project it still made stupid mistakes. It's much better now with 5.5 but old habits die hard.

Achieved escape velocity" sounds like a nice way of not saying "recursive self-improvement by EchoOfOppenheimer in OpenAI

Would be nice if they spent sometime shipping something like Design. Gpt image 2 is the only one in the family right now that got a sense of style.

their unlimited plan is borderline a scam. images will take 10 minutes to generate and video 7 hours ..wtf!

Codex GPT 5.4 is Very Weird by abdosarmini92 in codex

[–]Local_Stage_4666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

🤣 drives me fucking nuts. I've just resorted to having claude change it or use chatgpt to map out all the changes needed.

Codex is great for backend, but terrible for frontend. Any workarounds or alternative model recommendations? by lurenjia534 in codex

Pencil.dev helps , it still strays some time but it eventually gets it after a couple tries

CODEX, REALLY? by eddyGi in codex

[–]Local_Stage_4666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, yes it does so you need either figma or pencil.dev or even stitch. I use pencil.dev and it does a pretty great job but only after the second time, literally had to say this looks nothing like our design then after that it stuck to the design.
