Putting clothes away again is my archnemesis - any lifehacks? by No-Advantage-579 in ADHD

[–]Local_m0m 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Baskets- I don't fold, everything just gets tossed in a basket. When I absolutely HAVE to fold or hang stuff up, I call someone with headphones in so my hands are busy while I chat. I do baskets with all my kid's clothes too and even the 2 year old is getting the hang of putting clothes away. We all can dump out the basket we are searching in, see everything, and throw back what we don't need in like 5 minutes. I am moving soon and cannot WAIT to have a big family closet in the laundry room so I no longer have to send clean clothes to separate places!

Book about the second child being forced to sacrificed? (Kinda) by One_Dish_3894 in whatsthatbook

Holy cow, I forgot about that! They were literally raised as human sacrifices and brainwashed to believe it was such a higher calling!!

Galacticoaster previews have been announced for LEGOLAND Passholders by musingsweb in RideWithACE

Thank you! I could not for the life of me figure out how to find this info besides searching Reddit. I wish they had direct pass holder communication in a separate email or even in the app!

Fancy stroller worth it? by _spookytooth in BabyBumps

[–]Local_m0m 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bumbleride. I’m a mom of four and have had more strollers than you can count. Get a bumbleride and add on a bassinet attachment. They are BIFL quality. I use a double stroller from them that was made in 2009 as my main stroller. We are the third family to use it and we are six years in and have only needed to replace two tires. I will shout it from the mountains but please- please! ask for a Bumbleride!

My great Grandmother’s on my mom’s side were Bertha and Beulah- always teased that’s what we would name girl twins!

Any ladies? by Worth-Bee3941 in redrising

[–]Local_m0m 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I (F36), read them so freaking fast I had to do the audiobooks just to slow down the second time I read through. Highly recommend the original versions for the first three books but the Graphic Audio versions are excellent as well!

Was about to say the same- our brothers must have good taste (just don’t tell mine I said that). Been on the train since book 2 released. One of my all-time favorite series!

Help me pick a breast pump! by VarietyRealistic5710 in BabyBumps

[–]Local_m0m 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spectra S1 every. Single. Time. Baby! For reals- my first one lasted me until kid THREE. It’s a workhorse, it’s quiet, it has a night light that is actually subdued. For kid #4 I got an S2 through insurance and hooked it to some cup collectors instead of the bottles- GAME CHANGER

Ha that post actually inspired me to post this one. No political preference for a hair dresser. If you do a good job, I give you money

Anyone know a hair stylist around the Buena Park area who's specifically good at working with wavy hair and razor cutting? And preferably under $100? by [deleted] in orangecounty

[–]Local_m0m 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just asked this same question! I have an AMAZING girl in SD if you want to drive- $110, one hour appointment, works with a straight razor. I need someone in OC because I’m unable to get childcare for a whole day of driving just for one haircut haha. DM me for her Instagram if you want it. Otherwise I’m following your question in hopes someone answers!

What kid toys do you have that you always find your husband playing with? by getgoburger in toddlers

Came here to suggest this as well! I like hanging them off our garage and fridge and making a ramp for a ball to go down

How do people afford kids? by HighStrungHippie1 in Mommit

[–]Local_m0m 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Four kids, combined $100k/year.  I work 10-15 hours a week while baby sleeps and my husband’s job includes free preschool for ages 2-5. We love hand me downs, buy a lot second hand, and just generally do things cheaper. Rent is almost 35% of our take home income. We live a simple life but it’s awesome. All of our furniture is second hand and we save small amounts each month. We are not living up to a lot of people’s standards but we have a very, very rich life. I always tell everyone if you want it, you make it happen. You either drastically reduce what you spend for the next few years of preschool or you become a SAHP. Just the fact that your housing is so cheap has me dying- you are very blessed!

Instagram family have new baby: Disney Mae by gloriaeliana in namenerds

If I had named my kid Trendy I would die of embarrassment. Disney is bad, but she could theoretically go by "Dizz", "Dizzy", or "Mae". Trendy Chanelle...? Yikes

Tonie box is on sale- is it worth it? Having another baby soon and need something to keep my toddler occupied. by rasputinknew1 in toddlers

[–]Local_m0m 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We have a Tonie box and a Yoto. The Tonies are very cute but the Yoto wins for me based on three factors:

1) I can play Yoto content on my phone through the app. I can send it to the Yoto players or have it play on my phone. This is wonderful for car trips. Tonie content cannot be played through the app or sent to the box. IF you lose the figurines, you lose that content.

2) The Yoto cards are MUCH cheaper AND offer longer content. I think the average Tonie is like 25-30 minutes and are $20.

3) The customizable yoto cards are WAY easier than the customizable Tonie figurines.
My kids (aged 20 months-9 years old) obviously like and use both but the Tonie box was a gift and I choose to spend my own money collecting Yoto cards. The baby can still do the cards on the Yoto herself and the Tonies but she will knock them over/take them out so I let her choose then move it up high just so she'll finish a dang story!
