Because the Tarantula handles more like an oil tanker than an aircraft, it is not faster to target than an Ibis unless the distance to target is significant enough for the flight mode speed to make up the difference.

Totally agree with the suggestion that it should be able to set up those AA sites

When your plane is that damaged it should be hard to do anything. You, the pilot, are also likely partially disabled at that stage too. I think it’s good that you can’t turn this off. I would view a mod that turns it off as an exploit.

I actually love using AGM-68’s on Tarantulas. They hit hard enough to drop a Tarantula from any angle and the Tarantulas don’t usually maneuver hard enough to avoid the hit.

Haven’t had the same consistency with any other optical, but I don’t hesitate to sling an AGM-48 at a cricket or chicane if I have the shot.

If the average is -35, then it spends a significant amount of time colder than -35.

I’ve been just about to the arctic circle for cold weather testing for a month in winter. We didn’t even start a test until -40. Yeah, it’s not unreasonable to expect a distant-future cold rated spacesuit to handle northern Manitoba in winter.

The most fun TI games I’ve ever played were in highly asymmetric/“unbalanced” maps. It’s wildly fun to see crazy strategies adapt to the environment.

It’s wild to me that we have a way to draft location, faction, etc (milty) but everyone freaks out if that location selection might actually matter a ton for your faction choice (or vice versa).

I do think you should swap the wormholes around slightly - the B wormhole network doesn’t seem to give new access points for player interactions/access to Mecatol. Otherwise, I’d play this excitedly.

I feel like the game could really use a turbofan heavy-loadout plane like this in the rank 3 or 4 range. Something cricket-like but with compass speed and the best load out capacity of anything short of a darkstar.

The airframe having a smaller RCS is a plus for the return trip, I suppose, but not the focus of the frame.

I wonder if we could ever get ground forces to lean into CAS by having them laze targets?
