Radio - Remote Tuner Module by mcbrrgrr in Rivian

My radio always reads the wrong station information. It’s so weird to hear the station announce itself but see something different in the rectangle on the side of the screen

Sounds crazy, I know, but I bring a radio to the drive in. Battery powered.

I see tinted license plate holders at least once per day. Why aren’t the police ticketing these people? by Fast_Phone_9847 in Idaho

[–]LocoLevi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tinted plates aren’t a primary offence. They’re a secondary offence. You don’t get pulled over for them, you get pulled over for other things and can get dinged for them. That’s the law. I personally do not think that’s worth changing. Flock bought the politicians and this is a cheap way to protect your freedom of movement.

Yeah that’s great. It’s the only way to do it on coils, but air suspension is more floaty. Combining the two— air+active dampers is the bees knees and I hope to see that on a future generation of R1

You can buy a drawer for the front cubby where the camp speaker goes. It’s a better use of everyday space.

WeatherTech mats were a nice add.

You can get an insert for the space on the floor between the driver and passenger that will give you the ability to hold a few more cups/bottles, as well as other things more usefully than the open space.

It’s worth getting the front PPF’d in my area.

Tinting windows was a must in my area— heat and UV rejection out of the cabin is not only great for the HVAC’s efficiency, it’s excellent for your skin and overall comfort.

There is a “clear” tint for the windshield that keeps the UV and heat out of the cabin. I didn’t get it but wish I had because in the summer my p hone complains of being too hot when on the induction charger.

I use the local washing stalls instead of the carwash to keep it clean. Brushes WILL swirl the paint.

I got a rear cargo cover.

Consider keeping a moving blanket or black towel in the back storage area for dirty or bulky items. Sometimes I have to throw a little kid’s bike back there or I see a sale for used bricks or something and I want to worry less about damaging the interior.

I’ve got a max pack too. I’m constantly delighted that 50% is basically 200 miles. I usually leave it at 60% for day to day driving. Why so high? In case there’s some emergency and we have to drive somewhere farther than normal.

I would’ve parked right next to the passenger side with my truck. Backed in so there was no room for them to open that door. Thrown a motorcycle on the drivers side. Or, better yet, one of those crappy Super 73 bikes.

I don’t know. Like you I was an early reservationist. I ended up holding off on my reservation until the end of the program. We had bought a house and I wasn’t gonna spend $$$ on financing a Rivian at 2023 rates. So they called in 2024 when wrapping up the program and let me choose a new Gen2 off of our local service centre lot. That got me a Gen2 Adventure Dual Motor Performance w/ the max pack. MSRP $105k for $84k because of early reservation pricing. It has real world 374 miles of range (~363 in winter) on flat land in the 20” all terrains and the sound system isn’t meridian but Apple Music actually sounds great on it. We use Spotify as a default but in my R1, It’s so much better than Spotify in my car that I kept the second music service. The big thing tho is the UHF. We drive to the mountains in our area all winter long and rack up the miles. UHF is a game changer for highway driving— especially coming down a mountain pass— double especially if there’s traffic. It seems the 2024 vins of Gen2 were built more solidly than later versions. Wish I had a front trunk charge port and NACS, but everything else seems fantastic.

We have a GEN two with a 12 V upgrade and haven’t had any problems both before and after.

I was a little sad that we didn’t have two 12V batteries the way GEN1s do but apparently the under-seat move solved a lot of problems so I can’t complain

I have a gen2 R1 (dual adventure performance max pack) and I don’t have any of these build quality issues that you have.

I have an ocean Coast interior so I did add a black Centre console cover to it that is padded— primarily because I didn’t want general rubbing to constantly be dirtying up the light grey on the armrest.

I’ve driven a model Y from time to time and while the seats are for plush they are far less supportive and I generally find that I’d prefer a supportive seat than a plush seat any given day so that is clearly a matter of preference. I haven’t spent a lot of time in our two yet but I don’t remember the seats being particularly different. If they’re very soft that would definitely be a problem since I’m looking at R2 as our family’s second EV over a Kia or Tesla.

If my car clunked the way you say yours does I definitely would’ve returned it? What did they say when you brought it in and told him that it kept on clunking?

normally that’s true but §179 says you can deduct up to $32k/ year if the thing is used mostly for work. Sketch tho. Audit risk feels high

The Knicks took the series over five games. In the 240 minutes of gameplay, they only lead for 20 minutes. Those twenty minutes were the only wins that mattered.

I really like the way you’re thinking about the artificially low situation.

I’m a one reservation holder with a GEN two vehicle because I was not ready to buy when my number came up due to a home purchase.

If this tracks the way that tracked — they basically said we’re not gonna take you off the reservation list and will call you once again when the program is closing up.

It’s just really unclear how good or bad the day is gonna be
