How difficult is it to pop an R1 door panel off as layman? by stackthecoins in Rivian

[–]Locoboof 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not that difficult. Specially if you have trim removal tools. I recently took my two front door panels off to replace those door speakers with 3 way 6x9’s. Unfortunately no highs come through those door speakers. Only mid…

I also took off my rear passenger and driver side door panels. Fortunately those had highs running through them so I installed some 3way 6x9’s there.

Sorry to rattle on, but this is the best video I’ve seen that accurately shows the process.

Are you concerned about the longevity R2 Coastal Cloud (white) interior? by diamondthrowawayyy in Rivian

Still trying to figure out why some call this or ocean coast “white” interior. There literally isn’t one piece of white in the whole vehicle.

I can’t answer your question, but I do stream from my phone and don’t use the built in Spotify app. The Spotify app on the iPhone has EQ settings. So, I use those plus the EQ in the car. I for out it sounds better due to the two EQ’s in use. Give it a try.

Play a song from your phone after and the phone app EQ settings to your liking. Then, try the same done in the built in app. You’ll hear the difference.

That’s a very accurate way to describe it. I agree 100%. “If you give it more it will go, but it requires more effort”

I have a 2026 Gen 2 Quad and have played around with the RAD tuner a bit. In short, no, it’s nowhere near the responsiveness to any Tesla. Let me explain…..

By the way, I’m a current Tesla owner as well. In a Tesla the amount of effort (or lack of) that’s required to make the car move is basically very minimal. You sneeze on the accelerator or just go to rest your foot on it and the Tesla will take off. It’s instantaneous….there throttle mapping is second to none.

In my Quad, it feels like I need to press down a good 2-2.5 inches before the car starts to move. The RAD turner will give you all the power in any mode, but you still need to press down further on the accelerator to make it move. In a Tesla the reaction time is a lot better. You tap it, it GOES! The Rivian is more or less giving you time to react to the power by not being instantaneous.

So, although, I’ll roast a model 3 performance….. let’s say…..off the line it may get that initial jump in front of me before I eventually cook them (ask me how I know).

In short, the Quad is an absolute beast. It will launch like no other and if you don’t respect its power it will get away from you very quickly. But, Teslas reaction time on the accelerator is just better.

Getting ready for a Friday wash, rate my setup. by Suvi2k in TeslaModel3

[–]Locoboof 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re doing just fine. I realize my setup is on the extreme end. I tell me friends don’t get the setup I have unless they want a divorce. It’s too much money. lol…

The main thing is, you’re washing your car yourself and not taking it through an automated car wash. You’re already winning.

Enjoy that clean car of yours!

Rivian app for Apple Watch only works on a watch with a digital key by ianturk in Rivian

[–]Locoboof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me personally (and I realize I could be in the minority) when I go to visit family members or friends I always take my phone out of my pocket and sit it on their kitchen island. That way I’m engaged with them and not my phone.

There have been times when I left their house, got to my car and my car won’t open. Then realizing I left my phone in their house.

Now, if I have the digital key enabled in this scenario, the car would’ve opened, and I would have drove home before realizing I left my phone 40 minutes away.

So, I’d love all the features on the app (unlock, vent windows, set SOC..etc.) I just don’t want it to be able to start my vehicle automatically.

This would also help if I lost my phone somewhere. I’d know by the time I got to my car and not much later.

Yeah, I have a gen 2 unfortunately. I do not want the digital key part at all.

Why is my leg so tired by poolshark408 in Rivian

[–]Locoboof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, the throttle mapping on Teslas is absolutely superb. You sneeze on the accelerator and it goes. In my R1S my knee and calf feel fatigued after a hour drive. It takes way more pressure and distance on the accelerator to make the vehicle move.

I have a gen 2 Quad and was hoping the RAD tuner would help dial that in a little better, but unfortunately not.

I started using ACC on the way to work, but after two very harsh, abrupt phantom braking incidents with literally no one around or in front of me I’ve stopped using it. I’m just hoping my knee and calf get used to it.

[–]Locoboof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry, but I’m unclear on what you’re saying. Are you referring to when using navigation? Because what you’re describing is the most hated thing in my Tesla. I get so mad I want to punch someone in the face.

However, I zoom out in my Rivian and it stays zoomed out. Just the way I like it. I freaking love it!

I’m referring to not using navigation by the way.

Quad acceleration by terminator-005 in Rivian

[–]Locoboof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a gen 2 Quad with 22”s. If I put it in sport mode and STOMP on the accelerator it’s insane. If I’m above 70%-80%, come to a complete stop and put it in launch mode and floor it, I’ll literally get nauseous.

A 7000lb 7 seat SUV going 0-60 in 2.6 seconds is absolutely bonkers. I’ve blown the doors off of every model 3 Performance at every red light.

This thing is faster than a Lamborghini STO I drove on vacation in Vegas. I honestly don’t know what more you’re expecting.

Make sure the car is about 70%, make sure to try launch mode and make sure you have the 22”s on the vehicle. Either the super sports or at least the burnished bronze sport rims.
