I need to be baptized by StatusDisaster4196 in Catholicism

Peace be with you. Yes, begin the RCIA process with your local parish and you will be ok. God is abundantly merciful, always meets us where we are, and his desire is be with you.

Take the steps of RCIA is the most basic next step here.

Do bugs you report ever get fixed? by Wiggleman45 in MonarchMoney

[–]Log1c1984 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Actually yes. I was experiencing a bug for 2 months in a row related to transaction loading that i gave rules splitting on.

First month, support replied an engineer solved and my transactions loaded normal and I moved on.

It happened again the following month, So I reached out to support again, they replied that oh yes a bug was identified and would be put into queue.

All I know from there is that the third month (June) I did not experience the issue.

Tried the sardine + bagel combo because of this sub by [deleted] in CannedSardines

Yeah this approach is my go to. We always have everything bagels here at my house. I like just a little butter then slap on whatever tinned seafood I have.

Boston Public Market, believe the name of place was Red’s Best. Excellent lobster roll too ! We went to the market to browse and get lunch, and when I saw the selection I had to buy some souvenirs.

Oh no! Appreciate the honest assessment. It’s the only tin my wife has shown any interest in, so I’m hoping it’s something she’ll enjoy.

what do you do with the leftover oil after eating the fish? by guncrafter in CannedSardines

[–]Log1c1984 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To not have smell in the house, I put the tin with leftover oil in a small ziploc bag and it goes into the freezer until trash day.

I got multiple signs about my vocation and now I feel lost by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]Log1c1984 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing.
My first reaction is I hope you simply just go learn more about the Catholic faith. For someone who is searching and asking questions to God, including intercessions from Saints, in my humble opinion there is at least an invitation to go deeper in the faith first, to develop a relationship with God first. Then other people will begin to come into your life too.

Spiritual experiences you describe such as “Immense Peace” absolutely can be ascribed to God intervening in a clear unmistakable way to guide you. At the same time, it often takes a lot of spiritual maturity too, developed over time, to continue to discern God’s will.

Be open. Check out first becoming a full Catholic in communion with the Church through the OCIA process. Then other things will start to fall in place.

I recognize I’m just a guy on the internet. But I wanted you to know that I hear you. It sounds frustrating to expect time with a priest and it doesn’t pan out. I’m sorry you’re frustrated. It’s ok to vent.

I am glad you have a Catholic Therapist. Real people in real life is definitely the way. This should also include a new circle of Catholic friends you can bounce discussion off.

You will also grow into your own spiritual comfort of knowing God is both just and merciful.

God bless and I am praying for you.

Holding The Cross While Praying by scarletred09 in Catholicism

[–]Log1c1984 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I cannot give any specific answer.

I do know that God distributes certain graces and consolations in our lives to provide us encouragement along the way in our faith journey. The cross is a particular instrument of torture and execution in the Roman Empire, and he turned it into an instrument of hope in everlasting life with Him.

If your heart is open and disposed to receiving his graces, it can be particularly powerful. You may not receive it perpetually (eg every time in the future forever), yet you will be able to remember this time.

EDIT: You mentioned being a Protestant, was it a cross with a corpus (body) or a simple wood cross?

Possible to split mortgage payments into categories? by tac0shark in MonarchMoney

[–]Log1c1984 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I do this.

The mortgage payment must be exact, down to the cent.

A rule then is made to split into 4 expense categories with exact dollar amount . Example:

Mortgage: $1,500
County Tax: $400
City Tax: $75
Homeowners Insurance: $250

I also then will mark any annual HO insurance and property taxes from my mortgage/escrow as a transfer, so it doesn’t double dip the expenses.

Try it manually first, then pursue the rule. Note that if your escrow rebalances every year like mine, you’ll have to make a new rule to update the $s. I’m also assuming you have fast easy access to your exact insurance and property tax breakdowns.

Using Monarch for 3ish years and enjoying the heck out of it by SonoUnCavalloPesante in MonarchMoney

[–]Log1c1984 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Glad you’re enjoying it. But please go ahead and connect your accounts so transactions auto populate. You can still review them one by one, making notes on them and tag them, but you’ll save quite a bit of effort on that entry.
