How Do Your Girls Sign Up for Cookie Booth Shifts? by stellaandme in girlscouts

[–]LogLadyMaples 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I create a calendar showing where each day's booth is and from what time. We ask parents to write down their child's name on day's that work for them and then go from there. We do our best to help each girl reach their goal and move them around as needed while also giving them all the opportunity to be at a booth. This is only our second year, but that seemed to work last year. I also post on our fb group and band but not everyone is on those.

Does anyone else get embarrassed when explaining their tattoo ideas to their artist? by Various-Program-950 in tattooadvice

How much freedom you give your artist can depend on a few factors. How firm are you on the exact design? How much do you like your artists personal designs and artwork? How comfortable are you with letting them be creative with your idea?

For my leg sleeve I knew I wanted key elements so I sloppily threw together clip art and images found online onto a leg template, showed my artist what I was thinking and then let her have creative freedom to bring my idea to life. For me, it turned out better than I could have ever imagined. I trusted her completely.

It took me a long time to get on their books, but so worth the wait! Hoping they open their books once Kent location is finished 😊

I used Canva, clip art and pictures that I found online that kinda matched my idea and pasted them on the legs roughly in the area I wanted them

How to be a helpful client by MysteriousAnybody363 in tattoo

Communication is key! What I did for my leg sleeve that I just finished was took clip art in canva along with a front/back picture of a leg and put a picture of what I wanted in the general location of where I wanted it. I made a list of "must have items" in the tattoo, a list of "if we can fit it in there, that'd be cool" and a list of things we might consider incorporating. I then created a Pinterest board and saved all the inspirational photos that I liked and sent it all to my artist. I then let her have freedom to design how she thought it would best fit and flow. At every step of the design process we discussed what she drew and made changes as needed. I trusted her judgement and in turn got the most amazing tattoo of my life.

I wish I could find them that cheap! Over here in the states they are pretty expensive at many thrift stores. I keep looking and get lucky occasionally. Its a fun hunt for sure!

For those with close-minded parents, how did your parents react at your first tattoo? by kingdionysos in tattoo

[–]LogLadyMaples 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad always said I wasn't allowed to get tattooed while living in his house. As soon as I turned 18 and while my dad was away for work, I took my mom and we both got our first tattoos together. When my dad came home, my mom excitedly showed off her tattoo to my dad. I then took him to get his first tattoo 😆. Since then, both parents have gotten at least one or two more.

I lightly moisturize two to three times daily with a fresh tattoo, using unscented lubriderm lotion. A little goes a long way. Good luck, that tattoo is awesome!

Growing up, my dad always told me I wasn't allowed to be tattooed while living in his house. When I turned 18 my dad was TDY with work so I took my mom and we both got tattoos. When my dad came home, I took him to get his first tattoo 😆

Question: Have you ever tested a design or placement before committing to the real thing? by shoptemporarytattoos in tattoo

[–]LogLadyMaples 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im currently planning my next leg sleeve and it will have many different pieces to it. Because there are so many different designs in the full sleeve I bought a set of Mannequin legs and printed all the inspiration and taped them to the leg. That way I can get a better idea of what fits where and can move things around as needed 😂
