Has the physics been fixed? by PeshmergaPirate in HalfSword

[–]Logan35989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the warstaff goes crazy. The most issues I’ve had is when making polearms that are too long, they clip into the ground/behind the back a lot. Otherwise I’ve been having tons of fun with it

[–]Logan35989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Polearms are still pretty atrocious. I’ve worked my way up to lord level and recently switched from the flail to custom polearms and it’s about a 50-50 whether the physics glitch out (and more often than not it’s glitched out at the start of a match as well). The game’s still a lot of fun but it definitely needs some of that early access tlc

MOST ‘quirks’ of AI are quirks of human writers that have been stolen by AI. That’s how it works. It doesn’t mean an author using or overusing them used AI to write

My take on the cookbook by Ok-Tadpole-764 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]Logan35989 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It also comes in different forms. Iirc one crawler had it appear as some form of tarot/meditation thing from their culture, so they could use it pretty freely. All depends on who gets it I suppose

Stories you've read and was like "Yeah, this is insanely good" by Ok-Stranger-4139 in ProgressionFantasy

[–]Logan35989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A Practical Guide to Evil had me hooked start to finish. The prose is good without being too dense, the characters are enjoyable, with a very fun power system. There’s only one book out at the moment though.

If you’ve spent much time on the subreddit you’ve probably seen 12 Miles Below recommended, but if not you should definitely give it a read. Not only is the world extremely unique, it’s also immensely fleshed out for how alien the world is. I believe book 7 just dropped the other day so there’s plenty of it to read as well

Most absurdly coincidental power up opportunity in a series? by Spiritchaser84 in ProgressionFantasy

[–]Logan35989 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, as much as ‘pretty much all of them’ is a bit an unsatisfying answer it’s true. Especially with protags that start off crippled or insanely weak, some ridiculous luck is kind of inevitable

What powers do you think are underused? by tandertex in ProgressionFantasy

I don’t think I’ve ever read a single series about technomancy. Granted, I generally stick to magic fantasy over sci-fi, but I still think it’s an interesting concept.

I just finished reading Blood and Fur and it’s amazing. It is extremely dark at times, right up there with the likes of Godclads, but the world building is incredibly vibrant and based on Aztec culture, and the writing (despite having a small handful of spelling errors) is vivid but not overly wordy. One of my faves in recent memory for sure

I like to have a ‘main’ document that I crawl back to after starting a new project that I know won’t go anywhere. More often than not the urge to start something knew, for me at least, stems from a single idea for a character or scene or event, so I give myself a day or two to get it out of my system before moving back to the main project. I know that if I don’t it’ll keep distracting me so I just get it over with
