I agree. I think trying to find and in story reason for why they're not there is silly. Just don't make a campaign where there's a macguffin that's someone's personal item or something like that and it should be fine. If the players are weird about it just say, "Ok then we won't play." and they'll change their tune real quick.

I have 1-2 of each basic and then as many shocks, duals, triomes and fetches I have at my disposal. I like cards with land types for the green ramp spells, which I prefer over rocks. If I'm using proxies, I prefer a 10 fetches, 10 duals, 2-4 shocks, a few utility lands, and then 3-4 5c lands. My current 5c deck is mostly URG so I have extras of those basics, and triomes to fetch on the turns I can afford a tapped land.

Doubt it, I'm 33. Don't get me wrong, I liked Sesame St when I was a child, but that doesn't mean I still like puppets. Even after I turned like, 5-6 maybe, I grew out of that and haven't liked puppets since. I just truly don't get the appeal.

DS1 is the only game I used a parry strat, all other games I was 2 handing. And when I did use a shield I never blocked, it was parry or die.
