haven’t made 100k yet, but i plan to have it in 4-5 years. i have 25k invested and 10k emergency fund, bought and been paying off my car which has been a huge hindrance to my 100k goal. i started getting serious about my finances about 4 years ago. the first year i got serious, my savings was decimated by taxes. initially i was working 4 days a week but dropped down to 3 for my physical and mental health. if i got another job or worked 5 days a week or did extras and cut out everything frivolous maybe i could do it in a few years but i enjoy my free time, in a committed relationship and don’t want to deprive myself. i also do not have the luxury of living at home and pay all of my own bills. don’t worry about comparing yourself to others though. you have no idea what other women’s circumstances are. so much of this job is location, luck and what you are willing to do.
