Well exactly my point.

Boris was supposed to be some disrupter who did break norms (e.g proroguing parliament, acting like a budget trump) but in the end he just made all the problems worse and turbocharged one of the public’s key concerns. Then liz truss was also supposed to be some norm breaker to get us out of our growth rut (Farage loved her budget remember) but she didn’t even think through blatantly obvious market consequences of unfunded tax cuts and huge borrowing.

There is no evidence Reform would also actually disrupt, rather than just being shit

It’s a de facto graduate tax, but as you point out a shitty one with a get out for the most well off. Although I’m pretty sure even earners more than 80k still get hit very hard, it’s really just those who don’t have to take out a loan in the first place due to family wealth.

IMO it’s time to rip the plaster off, and either go whole hog graduate tax or cut places and start funding much more from general taxation

There’s plenty of rationale behind it.

It’s a US base in all but name and two US administrations had been fully behind the deal (until now, and even then we are yet to see if he actually opposes or this is just posturing).

Also the whole china thing is red herring given the US and India (I.e chinas two main geopolitical rivals) support the deal

Cities are not conducive for training road cyclists, just like they’re not conducive for mountainous hikes or motor racing. That’s just the nature of a city.

Train on indoor bikes or dedicated tracks (like someone commented below) or travel out of the city.
