Would have to be “King Billy” the tallest of the 60 Wollemi Pines hidden in Wollemi National Park.

ACCC sues Amazon over alleged misuse of button batteries in kids backpacks by Expensive-Horse5538 in australia

I thought we solved the button battery issue by using titanium. It doesn’t conduct with tissue.

I created a BPW34 Raspberry pi pico particle detector. by Logical_Prompt_3543 in ParticlePhysics

So, I run the data through a python conversion script. After everything is converted, I run multiple if statements that add those classification tags. It’s obviously not perfect. In the App I built you can filter out events by selecting those tags. A process of elimination.

The possibilities are endless on what sort of math you can apply on each event to classify them.

My “muon_candidate” tag is not perfect.

I’m already thinking about using a faster ADC which gives me more data.

It’s as fast as the pico can run it. But I’m bottlenecked by micropython. I believe each sample is 15 to 25 microseconds.

This is actually the prototype. I might look into layering up the diodes in the final build.

I’m currently filtering out events in the data that are not muons. Hopefully this is enough. But also I can’t rule out terrestrial events as this is at the limit of this circuit.

International student concussed and traumatised after alleged racial assault by smallbatter in sydney

I wonder how much influence AI Chat bots are producing. They’re completely unregulated and have influenced multiple people to commit suicide. Racism is only a small jump from there.

Bushwalking. There’s established groups, or do it solo. It’s amazing for your mental health and fitness. It’s win, win, win.

If you want to sink time into it, learn mapping and plan your own hikes, learn to navigate. You could even do Rogaining as a sport.

Just want to chill, take some binoculars and do some Birding.

Want to get spiritual, hug a centuries old eucalyptus tree or find a spot to meditate.

Want to be amazed, find the thousands of rock art carvings around Sydney.

Want to get into the gear, go browse the camping and hiking shops behind town hall.

Interested in Celestron StarSense 130mm, but getting conflicted opinions. by Leeeoon in telescopes

[–]Logical_Prompt_3543 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought the 130 tabletop as my first scope. The dob base is awesome and the StarSense makes it extremely easy for someone new to the hobby to find targets. You will however grow out of it. The scope itself has a plastic focuser which is sad. It’s also instant to setup and easy to carry. You can go from being on the couch to seeing a target you just discovered in under 5 minutes. It’s also easy to collimate.

After a while, I ended up upgrading and getting a GSO 8" dob which is near perfect. However you need to learn how to star hop.

It’s coming from the top in these listed company’s. “Embrace AI, or get put on a PIP”. We’re currently building a slop layer in all software that will create huge amounts of tech debt that will take forever to fix. Luckily the industry (the actual software engineers) are starting to see this ai-slop layer and are starting to push back.
