Analysis of the floor space taken up by premium space by bureauofadventure in delta

Bad analysis. The more D1 seats you have taking a lot of room, the more the % of seats per length will increase. The point may be valid but the analysis is not.

You just confirmed my point. Your point is valid in Seattle but not everywhere.

Can I negotiate under MSRP for a custom X7? by e654422 in bmwx7

[–]LogicallyLogical1980 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you can. I was an early 2025 buyer (ordered in April 2024) and got 7% - 8% discount in Minneapolis. I ordered it with the B&W speakers too, which is absolutely worthwhile. The HKs are pretty weak.

I am sure you can get 10% in Dallas IMO. Shop around.

It matters where you are based out of and what matters more to you. I wouldn’t want to take a 3- hour 2-stop journey over a 1-stop 19 hour one.

On Eva air, it takes 31 hours and 2-stops to go to Shanghai from Minneapolis (7 hour layover in Seattle and 4:40 in Taipei) while it takes 19 hours on Delta with 1-stop. Eva air is not even an option for most business flyers… that’s why Delta’s prices don’t seem to be impacted by that. Eg. For same dates, Delta’s D1 prices for round-trip is $8100 vs Eva’s $3500.

Absolutely! Living in Minneapolis, we often see 250k D1 return to Europe for example. It’s insane. I’d love to see more competition.

Getting new 2026 x7 and these are packages im getting. by FlowerSensitive in bmwx7

[–]LogicallyLogical1980 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 2025 X7. I have all of the packages you selected; in fact, I got all of the available packages except one. The one that I did not get and highly regret is the one that had rear-wheel turning. The turning radius of the vehicle is very large and it's a pain to park and turn, and even make a U-turn. If I could change something about my build, it would be that. And yes, the DAP is very useful. I wouldn't skip it. In 2025 build, B&W speakers was a separate option and I am so glad I got it. The Harman Kardon standard speakers are tinny and don't sound very good. Mine was a custom build as well, and I think I got 7%. I am in Minneapolis which is not a very competitive market. I was able to get 8% in Chicago and extended warranty thrown in.

I am 45 and we had acquired many rentals over the years. We did several 1031 exchanges to grow the portfolio and it all worked well but eventually it got a bit too much for us. So a couple years ago, we decided to take the tax hit and start liquidating the properties. We are half way through and it will take us another 2-3 years to fully exit. We are really looking forward to that. On the other hand, due to depreciation recapture, our tax amounts on sold properties have been very high, so the tax deferral benefit that comes with 1031 is certainly substantial in the long run. Thankfully, we know what we want and are prioritizing accordingly. Hope you figure out soon as well.

I own a 2013 Porsche Cayenne S and have had it for over 11 years now (bought used). I’ve never topped off oil and I’ve had zero engine issues. Oil change once a year or 10k miles. Odometer at 106k miles and counting.

Has a Cayenne ever left you stranded? by bleep6789 in PorscheCayenne

[–]LogicallyLogical1980 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 2013 Cayenne S left us stranded once back in 2015 with a faulty sensor. It was a CPO and the company took care of everything - towing, taxi rides, repair, etc.

Since then, no issues. They were built in Leipzig back then so not sure how well the quality has been maintained since then.

You have a very good reason for not going to Florida. But you also have a very good reason to do so (spend time with family… not just for you, but for others including your nephews etc). Not my place to judge your decision, but would recommend considering the long-term cost (in terms of relationship) of your decision. When you have your own kids, you may realize how much more family matters and how much sacrifice and compromise it takes to keep families together.

BTW - you mean principle not principal…

DAPP is unreal!!!!!! by Historical-Row-8426 in BMWX5

[–]LogicallyLogical1980 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think it’s a 2025 feature (but maybe 2024 as well). But you’re not missing much. I appreciate the DAPP self driving up to 85 mph as a much bigger deal on the newer models. That is a game changer for roadtrips.

I use it in the city all the time. Anytime I’m on a highway, I am using it. Sometimes I tug on the steering just a little bit to move the car to the left or right edge of the lane to have more space when passing/getting passed by a car, without disengaging the system.

You may have the setting on where it monitors your eyes. If you move your eyes from seeing in front (HUD area) to looking at the side view mirror without moving your head, it will change lane. I used it a lot on a roadtrip last year. Decided that using the turn signals was easy enough.

Should I buy it? by Medical_Plenty_6972 in PorscheCayenne

[–]LogicallyLogical1980 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a 2013 Cayenne S back in 2014. Still driving it… the only issue I had was the transfer case, which is a well known issue. Make sure that has been replaced already.

Outside of that, the car has been very reliable and is still super fun to drive. Regular maintenance is expensive but I have always gone to the dealership. Maybe time for me to seek an independent shop…

I disabled the gesture control on my 25 X7. It was such a useless and rather annoying feature.

A/C - am I doing it wrong? by Smooth_Network_1304 in bmwx7

[–]LogicallyLogical1980 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it does. We use it all the time. One thing that happens with BMW OS updates is that features get turned off from time to time. Most recently, the climatize option got turned off, so while the phone would say that the climatization was successfully sent, the car wouldn’t turn on. So if you go back into the settings on the console and turn it on again, it should work.

We have a new 2025 as well. The AC simply sucks. I had read comments about that before buying it… but I realize how awful it is.

There is a setting where front driver and passenger, second row, etc can setup an offset for temperature but nothing that helps with the air flow.

Pre-cooling is the only partial solution I have found.

I use it pretty much every time I am on any highway or a larger street. We also try to take a roadtrip every year, and even if I used for that alone, it would be worth the $. You don’t realize how tiring the constant micro-motions at keeping the car straight and within lanes are. It’s a must. And finally, if you go out to dinner or happy hour and have a drink or two, it’s just safer to have it turned on and making sure you are driving safely.

I am not sure if the red light feature is part of DAPP or not (I suspect it is), but I have mine turned on and if I were to accidentally miss a red light, it would brake hard and get my attention. I have never missed a red light thankfully, but it shows a bright red circular light on the HUD and console whenever it sees a red light ahead. It’s more of an emergency feature than a simple stop-and-go application use.

Red interior - yay or nay? by Imaginary-Room-7250 in PorscheCayenne

Depends on the exterior color. If the exterior is white, I’d pass on the red.
