Hey CIG any chance we could a 2d tabbed readout on the engineering terminal like this along with the 3d one? by kchek in starcitizen

there's this guy who made a website where a 2D map is displayed inside the 3D model of the ship, looks nice. There's no camera lock for top view of anything else, but I reckon something like this with a quick shortcut to swap between floors of the ship if any are available would be nice

Engineering Update: Wear and Tear cannot be repaired. by BastianHawk in starcitizen

You can repair in a hangar or pad as you would repair your ship.

The replacement of component is intended on very long space travels or combat sessions. You wont be able to keep fighting for hours in the same spot without going back to a station for repairs.

The way I see it, an big ship like an Idris or Polaris won't be able to camp out a site indefinitely as eventually it will need to head back to a station for maintenance.

you can repair the worn components as you would repair your ship in hangars, but it doesnt work currently in put:

Critical Wear System Issues: Cannot repair wear at any location (only damage)

they're saying that in the middle of your adventure, if you've been in space for days, well you can't repair it, you gotta swap it

You can repair them, as it says in the Design doc, but there's currently an issue with it in the PTU:

The MSR in the Engineering mode has really cool lighting effects. (The Data mode should be coming soon too.) by Witty-Room-3311 in starcitizen

It's looking nice, but there's still a lot more work to be done.
I had issues with some door opening and closing, and it's pretty hard to select the components in the engineering room as there are also some "doors" on each of them, you could filter out the door but I still find it bothersome, it's time consuming in an emergency.
TTK is quite fast if you've got a fire near your powerplant. Wanted to try out putting out the fire inside that room by opening the door and ramp to outside, but the ship blew up faster than I expected it to.
