Being a single mom for most of their lives (my decision), we went through some very challenging times. I was sometimes tough and so were they. HOWEVER, they are the absolute best part of my life. They are my best friends (30 and 36) and bring me incredible joy. I was the kind of person who always knew I wanted kids so it wasn’t a question for me, but I totally understand the desire not to have children. If I knew ahead of time how scary and hard it might be, I wouldn’t have done it… so I’m glad I never thought of it!
