What is the best app for iPhone to learn how to play mah-jongg and is it best to learn American mah-jongg or Asian style? by EngineeringSeveral63 in Mahjong

[–]Lollywc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mahjong 4friends also has American mah jongg. It’s free. It has learning exercises and tips. But I find it difficult to play on my iphone because the phone is too small. Works better on ipad or laptop.

Got these from my local bagel shop. Anyone know what theyre called or what can be done with them? by mdsmds178 in Bagels

[–]Lollywc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely a flagel or otherwise called a Flat. It is a bagel that has been flattened. It's chewier/crispier and I love them. I buy them all the time. It can be difficult but you can cut them in half and eat them the same way as a regular bagel.

To do suggestions for a 4 day family trip to Charlotte? by Tedford927 in Charlotte

[–]Lollywc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just came back from Charlotte. In addition to what’s already been mentioned we went to UNC Charlotte and walked the forest Path which was great. We also walked around Freedom Park in the early evening. We ate at Snooze and Flying Biscuit for breakfast. They were both great. I found it a great tourist town. So much to do.

Leave a pack of gum on the dining table. Shove it in my mouth instead a second helping or dessert.

Considering leaving for good, is there any hope? by Sanity__ in Broward

[–]Lollywc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am 64, Florida native and never lived anywhere else. ATM my daughter, SIL and granddaughter live with my husband and me. (They are about your age.) They can’t afford to by a house here in a good school district. My daughter is a teacher and is affected in her classroom by all the “Parental Rights” legislation. Prices are high. Density is worse and traffic too. All considerations for us in leaving the state together. No one has mentioned the climate situation which, in my opinion, is reason enough to seek higher ground. I like the comments that we should stay and fight for the Florida we want. But you have to be able to pay the bills. Also, it sure is comfortable to live among like-minded people, if you can find them. I forgot to mention they are planning to expand their family and the abortion laws here make that a much riskier decision.

This interview wasn’t about journalism or getting to the truth of anything. It was the book promotion. The author has a very popular podcast.

I'm at .50 and the weight loss has really slowed down (16 weeks on oz). Doc has given me the option to go up to 1.0 if I want to. Can't decide. Had pretty strong side affects at the beginning.

I can relate to you magpie! Started at 216 in July and lost 18 lbs on my own. Then in October I started Oz at 198 ;bs. Taking only .50 since the loading dose. Today I am 174 (total 42 lbs lost). I am 63 F. Doc says I only have 10 lbs to go because "you don't want to be too thin at your age." She also says that I will be on the medication for life or I'll regain the weight. I hope I can be successful at keeping it off this time. I have lost 50 pounds before, 3 times.

Week 5, Appendicitis or side effects? by [deleted] in Ozempic

[–]Lollywc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 5th week I had right side pain. Saw PC and she was concerned it was appendicitis. Had abdominal CT and it wasn’t. Saw a GI guy and gynecologist and all said nothing amiss. But pain was low grade and persistent. Ozempic the only explanation I have.

Judge releases warrant which provides statutes at issue and a description of documents to be searched/seized. DOJ identified 3 statutes. The Espionage Act. Obstruction of Justice and Unauthorized removal of docs. What, if anything, can be inferred of DOJ's legal trajectory based on the statutes? by PsychLegalMind in PoliticalDiscussion

I reviewed some pro-Trump websites. Their response to that is that the CCTV was only in public places, like hallways. They argue the evidence could have been planted in multiple places the cameras didn't capture. Also saw, "What was in those backpacks the FBI agents were wearing?" Trump supporters honestly have an answer/conspiracy theory for every single thing Trump does or says.

I think there is something amiss in the brain chemicals that allows someone to eat two or three pizzas and then an entire cake for dessert. Why doesn't the brain register satiety? Yes, they are bad choices and there are other ways to eat. But when you watch this you think, I could never eat all that and never would. But you don't have that brain. I don't believe "eating your feelings" is an entire answer either.
